Why? It's how they built the organization before. Thinking that dropping down 10+ picks is going to kill the franchise is kinda ridiculous.
No, there isn't an immediate fix, but there doesn't need to be. We have until 2022 until our farm needs to be great again. I'm pretty sure that if they make the right picks and sign the right guys that they'll be able to be just as good as they were prior to the DD trades.
It was really the Boston Globe that turned on those two, not the fans. Tito will always be my manager. Theo has been proven to be one of the all time greats at building an organization. It's a shame that this FO decided to keep Larry instead.
It's not a myth. I've seen enough games to know when a guys is being pitched around and when he's not. Not every hitter is being pitched around. It only happens in some circumstances. Just because their conclusion was that it doesn't exist, doesn't mean the methodology used was correct.
Sidney Ponson started 223 games for this team. This f***wad was arrested for assaulting a judge and had 2 DWI arrests all in the span of 12 months. f*** the Orioles.
Not fact. DD seemed to have a really good draft last year.

That's really good so far for the first 5 rounds. Now he'll be able to grab international guys too.
And losing guys like Guerra/Basabe/Asuaje/Allen/Diaz/Light/Rijo will have zero impact on the MLB roster.
If this command vs control nonsense gets to 700 posts, God help me, I will just have to drive to Yeszir's house and will seize the means of production...
Yup, the organizational sky isn't falling for a long, long time. There may be blips like 2012, 2014 and 2015, but us Sox fans have an easy gig these days.

The farm is on the thin side, but I bet they really ramp the international signings back up this year. Not being able to get International FA's for a while really killed them almost as much as the trades.
He's probably really overrated by the Sox Prospects guys. He had great results last year, but really needs to be able to locate to perfection if he's going to play higher than AAA. I think his grade is more indicative of his performance than his projection.
I truly know that we are in a post fact world when people keep trying to gaslight The Greatest Clutch Hitter in the History of the Boston Red Sox, David Ortiz, #34.
Is it ironic that the base running coach is recovering from his 2nd knee surgery and a star ballplayer just went down with a knee injury running the bases? I guess so. Maybe self fulfilling prophecy? Does anyone know the status of BB's shoulder prior to Steven Wright's appearance in LA last year?
