  1. They also found a real truly amazing, bigly amazing and I mean bigly amazing PI to follow Crawford around for a few weeks!
  2. He didn't want to come here because he wouldn't have been guaranteed a closing role.
  3. Since 1980, I'm officially stating that Steve Avery was the worst. He was brought in to offset the loss of Clemens. He was so bad that the Sox dicked him out of contract incentives. http://articles.latimes.com/1997/sep/02/sports/sp-28212
  4. Mike Brown was a turd that was included in the trade to get Spike Owen and Hendu. If you told me that Mike Brown was a player on the 86 team, I wouldn't have believed you.
  5. How about Eric Hetzel? http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hetzeer01.shtml
  6. That 94 team had some real s***. Gar Finnvold
  7. Chris Nabholz was s*****. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1009431&position=P
  8. Steve Avery came in to be a big part of the rotation and just took a flaming dump on two seasons. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/a/averyst01.shtml
  9. His arm isn't stretched out. He's much more valuable as a reliever.
  10. No scout has said that since before last year when some wondered if he'd be moved to 1b because of his body type. He was the 2016 defensive player of the year for the organization.
  11. Seriously though, aside from the ridiculous Bonds cheating seasons, Trout is the greatest player of all time.
  12. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/ct-yoan-moncada-strikeouts-spt-0315-20170314-story.html On Moncada: "He has the skill set to be a high-impact type player. We're taking it from the simplest fundamental basis." Which means enjoying the highs and working to eliminate the lows. "He's had some things where you go, 'He's not standing out from anybody,'" Renteria said. "Till he puts the barrel on the ball. Then you go, 'Ah.' When he barrels it, there's some life to it.'" Moncada is a fun lottery ticket, but I'd rather have a guy like Devers 9 out of 10 times.
  13. He'll be in AAA before my son is out of kindergarten.
  14. Devers doesn't have the K% issues that Moncada has. Devers is much more refined in his approach. Moncada is basically Bo Jackson. He's a freakish athlete that it getting by on his physique.
  15. Farrell is an ok manager. The right move would have been to dump him last year and upgrade to Lovullo. Right now, there isn't a better option in house or sitting at home.
  16. As the TS saying goes, he had a great rack in 2013 and was just a boob in 2014 and 2015.
  17. http://deadspin.com/mike-trout-might-actually-be-getting-better-1795292897
  18. If Mike Trout stays healthy, he will be the greatest player of all time.
  19. The last pure guards taken #1 overall: Kyrie Irving John Wall Derrick Rose Allen Iverson Fultz has a ton of value. Trading him for a guy like Paul George would be a mistake imo.
  20. Sonny Gray has a .520 FIP and his K% is down. Let's beat up on this dink.
  21. And that's the main point. It's impossible to split hairs and blame a specific person for all the bad moves (Larry) and remove blame from someone else (Ben). At the end of the day, it's far easier to just give credit and blame to the acting GM at the time. Saying "Ben sucked in 2014 and 2015" is basically just saying "the front office sucked in 2014 and 2015."
  22. He seemed to be held back a little bit earlier in the year and was rarely used. http://www.fangraphs.com/statsd.aspx?playerid=4994&position=P I now wonder if they were just giving him extra rest after the WBC.
