    I misread the post. So we should pay a guy $30M per year to play LF 14 times a year? For his production, it seems like you could utilize the salary elsewhere (starting pitching, relievers, keeping B's around), especially if he's going to be mainly a DH.

    Over Holt's pretty long career, he's hit best when at the top of the lineup. His hitting dips when batting anywhere else.

    @redsoxstats Devers now has 10 max speed sprints so he qualifies on on statcast's rankings. One of the fastest 3B in MLB, ranking in the top 25% overall.

    Well, he might not lob the ball back in, but he has had trouble throwing to the correct base which often leads to an advanced runner. He has the athleticism to be a plus plus LFer, but right now he's about average. With all the hype of "3 CFers" I was hoping for Yaz in LF.

    Johnson has just struggled to stay healthy. No one really knows how Beeks' stuff will play in MLB. Maybe he pitches well, maybe it's batting practice? I'd give him a shot in September for sure.

    Betts and JBJ are fantastic. I just wish Beni was showing more improvement out there.

    Who plays SS then? Is Stanton being moved to DH? Why spend $30M on a DH? Instead of Stanton, maybe just hold off and sign Harper or Trout?

    Unfortunately, it's hard to develop starting pitching and the Sox seem exceedingly incompetent at it.

    Umps just don't set up very good behind the plate. The majority of them really struggle with the outside corner. I think they need to go back to the oversized balloon style chest protectors.

    Until Benintendi becomes better than average, I'm not sure I could call the OF defense excellent.

    Devers AND Benintendi? If you're the Marlins GM, you'll be out of a job quickly as that trade would never ever get done.

    He was hoping he could play through it and opt out. Now, he's going to be stuck getting surgery and will have worry what Eck is saying about him on every broadcast for the next 5 years.

    Sabathia is better than Porcello this year. It's not terribly surprising that he can have some pretty good games. CC has gone 20 innings against the Sox and has only given up 2 runs.
