  1. He's also had enough last place finishes to raise my eyebrows.
  2. Since when is giving a guy a few days off a panic move? I don't see the problem in trying to ease your #3 prospect onto the MLB squad.
  3. I'm just stating a fact that he less more power against LHP. You can check his career stats to see it as well.
  4. 6% XBH per PA vs LHP. 14.5% XBH per PA vs RHP.
  5. I think there are managers deserving of a lot of money (Madden, Bochy, Francona, Showalter). Farrell is not one of them. I'm sure his pay is adequate enough.
  6. Bard's career hasn't been at a crossroads since he was let go from the Sox, it's just been circling the drain.
  7. That's based on player salaries, not manager salaries who are generally paid far less than the players.
  8. http://www.csnne.com/boston-red-sox/evan-drellich-boston-red-sox-players-need-accountability-instead-of-blaming-john-farrell Media is trying to rally around Farrell and save his job. It's obvious where some people get their info. Fun quote: Where’s the guy in the clubhouse standing up to the media with any consistency? There’s no voice that regularly shields the younger, less experienced guys in the room from tough but expected questions after losses. Dustin Pedroia gets dressed and leaves the clubhouse faster than Chris Sale will get the ball back and throw it Wednesday. I agree that the players are at fault too, but isn't it Farrell's job to make sure that veterans are being the leaders they need to be? If it isn't, then what are they paying Farrell for? Pitching changes and setting the lineup? I thought the Sox always said there is more to managing than just on field stuff?
  9. And if Travis looks good now, maybe the Sox will be ok with giving him the fulltime gig next year.
  10. You wouldn't pay a babysitter that much?
  11. He's getting on base due to a higher walk rate vs lefties, but I don't know if that's sustainable for him. His power vs lefties is basically nonexistent. I'm fine with the platoon.
  12. BS 2 out runs here!
  13. Ken Rosenthal should be hung by his bowtie. I only posted it as it was a big topic elsewhere.
  14. @alexspeier Sam Travis on how he can help the Red Sox: 'I'd like to think I can hit.' HOF
  15. Hell no! We'd have barely any cap room after that deal!
  16. https://twitter.com/PeteAbe/status/867104983484952577 Real talk: maybe Travis' attitude is something that this team needs?
  17. There are plenty of injured arms to pick from!
  18. Fantasy baseball is dumb. Even though my winning % is down, I promise to still update my roster and compete every week.
  19. Friendly reminder: Sam Travis is the next Paul Goldschmidt
  20. @SPChrisHatfield It looks like Brian Johnson is going to be the starter on Friday - would be on 5 days' rest.
  21. Velazquez sent down. No need to adjust 40 man roster.
  22. @redsoxstats After a slow start and an injury, over his last 100 PA Sam Travis has hit .344/.398/.511 in AAA with 8 BB and 10 K. Average at best 1B.
  23. @nickcafardo Red Sox bringing up first base prospect Sam Travis In lineup tonight?
