    If this was just to get "Breslow's guys" well most of the IFA's are agreed to long before they are actually signed, some years in advance. It's hard to split the IFA signings between Breslow vs Bloom that specifically.

    1. If the Red Sox were out of playoff contention, would they have let Tolle pitch longer in his 14 K performance? 2. Will Story get back before the rosters expand on September 1? 3. The Sox finally did the right thing and got the Ryan Watson stink off the roster. Do you think the Sox are kicking themselves a little for being so left handed heavy in their acquisitions? Instead of calling up Gamboa, Rivera or Samaniego, they called up Martinez and Burgos. 4. I know this sounds like an Alex question, but it's a Maddie question. What is going on with the quality of contact for Jarren Duran? He's either cranking a homerun or not doing anything with the ball. It's not just bad BABIP luck, right?

    I only watched the final 3 outs of the series so I can't comment on how horribly they played. I heard that the Sox just played down to their opponents. It's MLB. Teams shouldn't be expected to win every series IMO.

    He still spent a lot of trade capital on a guy who was injured a lot leading up to the time he was being traded for. Easy to overlook Adley's injury history because of his name/pedigree.

    The BABIP is because his hard contact rate is down. He's just not making good contact with the ball anymore. It's not a luck thing.

    Who are you referencing? Duran? Rafaela? Bregman? Roman? Abreu? Devers? Narvaez? On an fWAR/G basis, Story was not the best player on the team last year. Far from it.

    Like I said above, bring up Gamboa today (he's supposed to start). Call up Wehunt for Sunday for the bullpen game and have him start (his scheduled start date).

    The theory is that small ball doesn't work in the postseason. You need homeruns. Currently, the Sox are hitting homeruns. MIL 25: 22nd in HR MIL 26: 30th in HR Red Sox are 4th in MLB in HR since July 1.

    I flinch whenever someone compares the 2026 Red Sox to the Brewers. I hope having Rafaela/Contreras/Abreu/Rutschman can push them further in the playoffs than the Brew Crew.

    Their offense was much more productive last year than this year. If they can't hit in the postseason again, they are in trouble. Harrison started to slow down in July. Drohan is their 3rd highest fWAR pitcher. I don't know if that's really something to brag about.
