  1. I think the whole org was down on Mayer (health and effort).
  2. I'm not necessarily worried about a Rule 5 crunch (since a Rule 5 draft is not likely to happen this year due to a lockout), but any moves would mean another person needs to be taken off the 40 man. It's not a big deal. There are a ton of guys that could go at this point. I just think it'd be smart to be a little more proactive this time around and get rid of some of the trainer's room fixtures. This is probably a better discussion for later in the year anyway.
  3. They need to be rostered in the offseason. You DFA them so that you don't have to do that and have them take up space then.
  4. Wonder what he'd actually be listed at now that ABS uses actual height. 🤔
  5. Pitchers: La Sorsa, Gamboa, Crawford, Kelly Hitters: Rogers, Gasper, Harris, Eaton, Cheng, Casas A few of these guys are on the 60 day IL, but you can't put them on the IL during the offseason and they take up a 40 man spot again. Rostering guys who are permanently injured reduces the amounts of moves you can make in the offseason.
  6. The highlights are good. He's a bigtime suck up for ownership though and can be annoying from time to time. If he dialed down his rantings, he'd be better.
  7. They were absolutely miserable at Fenway early on. Glad they turned it around.
  8. Monasterio is in a Sox uni in Topps '26 Series 2. I don't believe the others have Sox cards. The update series isn't released until October.
  9. 8 homers over 420'. 443 6/23 at COL 435 7/18 vs LAD 431 8/2 at LAD 430 8/4 vs CHW 427 5/8 vs TBR 422 7/30 at A's 422 7/18 vs TBR 421 6/12 vs TEX
  10. I don't think there's a standard. I just think there is no reason to rush it. They probably already have him under contract and will just see how this season plays out.
  11. I think we're closer to agreeing than not. I think they are going to ride out the Monasterio wave until Story is back. At least it's been fine enough.
  12. Refsnyder has been horrible this year (508 OPS vs LHP). All of his metrics have cratered. He's a great clubhouse guy though.
  13. That's self evident if you read above.
  14. As a whole, they were 14 games under .500. That is terrible.
  15. The vibes are high. The team seemed very loose last night. I'm sure they are excited about Brez trying to bring in help at the deadline. Nice to see Adley in the dugout. Let's see how all the pieces fit.
  16. I hope it's the one we're watching now! It's been a lot of fun. If they need to have a WS hangover in a lockout shortened season, it's fine by me.
  17. It was! They were 14 games under! They were on pace to be one of the worst Sox teams of all time. They needed an all time run just to get back to .500 before the trade deadline. They deserve their flowers, but don't forget how miserable they played early on (14 games under, 30th ranked offense). They got their coaches fired they were so horrible!
  18. You can say "vastly" or "underrated" but I'm just looking at the metrics. They are close enough where running Monasterio out there makes more sense while he's hitting. If he stops hitting, it's a different conversation.
  19. He'd be more likely to get hot if he had stayed healthy. Missing the time and being another year older? Seems like a much taller task. I think last year was the high water mark and he won't see that again.
  20. 7/57.5M? I think they pass since his contract only gets more expensive from here on out.
  21. Personally, I'd rather see Arias have more than a week's worth of games at AAA. Especially if the Sox are currently rolling.
  22. Only if a team claims him. If he passes through waivers, the Sox are on the hook. The Sox are NOT going to do this.
