  1. Duda doesn't have Moreland's glove though. I think I'd rather have Moreland than Duda short term.
  2. It's closer when you only count seasons 2014 on (which are probably more important). However, Giancarlo IS definitely a much better bet than JD. My only worry is that you would have to give up something of value to get him. If it's a few be level prospects, it's a good option.
  3. @alexscherff23 Rest In Peace Daniel Flores...most talented catcher I have ever seen and such a joy to be around. Lots of love from his Sox teammates that he played with in instructs. Everyone is heartbroken and he was a great human being. Very sad.
  4. Joe Kleine?
  5. Duda is a platoon guy. I only go for him if you can get him at platoon DH prices.
  6. I think they should try to kick the tires on both.
  7. A better comp for JD is Jose Bautista.
  8. Here's his slugging since 2014: 553/535/535/690. Seems pretty consistent until last year when his hard contact % increased to 49%. RBI is a garbage stat that is only reflective on how good of an offense you have in front of you.
  9. Yup, they need at least one of them.
  10. He's 20. He has many years to go before he grows out of the position. We were all told that Xander would grow out of SS too, but that hasn't happened.
  11. Mous is below average. Negative WAR defense. It'll only get worse as he ages with that big body.
  12. And really, his issue is just throwing. That's probably something they can really focus on this offseason and work out.
  13. @ClearTheBases #RedSox announce: Dana LeVangie as the new pitching coach.
  14. The best attribute of John Farrell was "hey, I'm not Bobby Valentine!"
  15. Xander is definitely middle of the pack. That's not homerism.
  16. Tim Anderson Asdrubal Cabrera Chris Owings Erick Aybar Ryan Goins Marcus Semien Jorge Polanco Javier Baez Jean Segura Carlos Correa Jose Peraza Javier Baez Orlando Arcia Elvis Andrus Jordy Mercer
  17. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2743182-astros-alex-bregman-on-snl-college-with-odell-alex-cora-bp-in-off-whites B/R: Alex Cora mentioned on Monday at his introductory press conference as manager for the Red Sox that you were like a little brother to him. What was your experience like with him as a bench coach? AB: He impacted the team immediately when he came over. Just a special knowledge for the game that you don't get from most people. His knowledge of baseball is basically why he has such a good career. It's because he knows the ins and outs of the game. He picks up stuff that other people don't pick up. If I'm trying to steal a base, I need to find a cue because I'm not the fastest guy. Alex Cora will be like: "Watch his front foot. His front foot when he picks is closed off. When he goes to the plate, it's open. You know right there, on one one-thousand, two, he's going to the plate." B/R: Was there any particular instance where Cora’s help stuck out to you? AB: I'd say the first thing, well, I kinda had the yips in spring training. I couldn't throw. He got me to be able to throw again. We went down and looked at video. This is two days after meeting him. This is his first time being a bench coach, in the first two days, we sat down with the video and threw every day. He actually put a few of us in a group text and put, "94 wins" at the beginning of the year. He sent us a text every day after every single win. "93 wins. 92. 91." We ended up winning 112 this year. B/R: And what happened when you guys got past 94 wins? AB: He just said: "Hey, let's go. Let's keep winning. Keep winning. Keep winning. Keep winning." He was right. He was special. He was a big difference-maker in us winning the World Series.
  18. I highlighted my preferend. Devers will be a gold glove winner before all is said and done. Xander is fine at SS and not below average. Holt is passable at 2B, but I'd rather Hernandez. Hanley or Martinez should be fine at 1b.
  19. I hate Holt. He's useless. I used to be a big fan but he just sucks a big fat one right now.
  20. He's a dumdum.
  21. And wouldn't have been able to make a move at the deadline if we needed to.
  22. Michael Chavis should shag flies in LF.
  23. I have a nice seat warming for him in my catapult aimed at the Boston Harbor.
