  1. Espinoza is now only the 7th ranked Padres prospect.
  2. There are no more Keith Hernandezes.
  3. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/11/giancarlo-stanton-trade-rumors-dodgers.html Giancarlo Stanton Trade Rumors: Monday By Steve Adams | November 27, 2017 at 2:49pm CDT The Giancarlo Stanton trade saga has been one of the top storylines of the offseason, and there’s no end in sight at the time being. To date, the Cardinals and Giants have reportedly submitted formal offers, while the Dodgers and Red Sox have also been linked to the slugger. We’ll track today’s developments on the Stanton front right here: ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick reports that other clubs have gotten the sense that there’ll be resolution on the Stanton talks one way or another by the time the Winter Meetings kick off on Dec. 10. That is to say, the Marlins will either have traded him by that point or interested parties will have exhausted their patience and begun to explore other possibilities on the trade and free-agent markets. Crasnick also notes that while the Cardinals and Giants are the most oft-cited suitors, there are other clubs that are in active pursuit of Stanton.
  4. @ScottLauber From last week: "Less than 50-50" that Giancarlo Stanton approves trade to #RedSox as long as West Coast options remain. Still, Sox must remain engaged. Stanton thinks you'd look better in Dodger Blue.
  5. I agree. He was pretty good, but not really worth what the Sox spent.
  6. Abad and Scott have great splits against LHB tho. Elias isn't that good at getting lefties out.
  7. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/11/braves-trade-rumors-matt-adams.html For teams that view Adams as a bench bat, however, committing $4MM+ to a defensively limited reserve option at this stage of the offseason is a tough sell. Mitch Moreland has a reputation as one of the game’s best defenders at first base and signed for a one-year, $5.5MM contract in Boston last winter, while Adam Lind, a player with a comparable skill set to Adams, settled for a one-year, $1.5MM pact with the Nationals in mid-February. Many teams would likely consider Adams a viable backup option behind their preferred offseason targets, but that won’t help him at this juncture of a slow-moving offseason, as the top targets for each of those clubs are all still in play.
  8. That sounds like a terrible dream. Dream big!
  9. It's why I said bench bat. Yuck. Platoon with Shaw maybe?
  10. You could convince me to keep Owens instead of Elias.
  11. In AAA most likely.
  12. Bench bat at best for the Sox. Yuck.
  13. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/5434/giancarlo-stanton According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, Giancarlo Stanton's representatives have provided the Marlins with a list of teams where he'd accept a trade. Nothing is confirmed, but Morosi hears that some teams pursuing Stanton believe that the Dodgers are his first choice and he won't accept a trade anywhere until there's some clarity with the situation. Of course, Stanton is from the Los Angeles area. It remains to be seen if the enthusiasm is mutual here, as the Dodgers are already paying the luxury tax. Meanwhile, Stanton has 10 years and $295 million remaining on his contract. Most expect the Marlins will have to pay down some of the contract, but they might not mind doing that with the Dodgers, who have a strong farm system. The Giants and Cardinals have been mentioned most prominently among interested clubs in the early part of the Hot Stove. Nov 27 - 1:41 PM
  14. Let me tell you the tale of the gyro ball.
  15. Also, "Bosoxinjection" is NOT a valid news source.
  16. Why, will he be shooting guns with Chapman?
  17. That link is old. All the newer info reveals they have a lot less to use. They started with $4.75M, added with the Longhi trade, but still spent over $7M already. http://www.soxprospects.com/international.htm
  18. It'd be great to sign him, but we don't have enough International $$$ to bring him here. Why would he sign a 3-4 year deal with the Sox for $462k/year? I believe the Yanks and Twins can offer over 7 times that amount.
  19. Guess last week was a good time for me to go on vacation and not check Talksox!
  20. He's only pitched out of the pen 5 times in his entire professional career. If he's in the pen, it'll be in AAA.
  21. More of a DFA option than a depth option at this point.
  22. Can we stick to the baseball talk and leave the political nonsense out of here? Otherwise, I will drive to our overlord's house and wrest control of this site from his capitalist hands to install a complete socialist Talksox site where everyone shares post totals and we can all enjoy our misery equally.
  23. They don’t want less tho. They want much more. That’s why I want JD instead.
  24. Not true at all. A simple check at former mvps list a few players that were paid less than Pedroia at contract signing time (Rollins among others). Let’s just make s*** up tho!
  25. He was the 2nd highest paid 2b when the ink dried.
