  1. Some of us had faith this would happen, but you were very skeptical.
  2. @PeteAbe JD Martinez did not play yesterday, so something must be up physically with him to be out today. There's no roster move coming at this point.
  3. Koji pitched better in 2013 than Eck did in his MVP season of 1992. Eck's 1990 season may be the greatest relief season of all time.
  4. Leon is OPSing 775 in May. He's fine.
  5. I think they hold their nose with JBJ's offense and keep him around through 2020. If they keep Mookie, they probably look for a cheaper CF options (in-house or otherwise). If Mookie goes, maybe they try to bring in a bat for RF and keep JBJ?
  6. That's a no for me dawg. Matt Kemp is the epitome of damaged goods.
  7. Play-in game, not a playoff.
  8. @redsoxstats Eduardo Rodriguez has a 68 FIP- his season, meaning his Fielding Independent Pitching is 32% better than league average. The pitchers >5% better than him this year: Ryu, Cole, Castillo, Snell, Scherzer, Glasnow Yet his ERA- 106, 6% worse than league average. A major divergence. Why the difference between FIP and ERA? “Luck” His .364 BABIP is next to last among starters, the 65% Left on Base % is 12th lowest, and the .032 difference between his wOBA and expected-wOBA is the 3rd highest. Basically anything that can go wrong is going wrong.
  9. Jhon Nunez tater and triple. Durran extended his hitting streak to 12 games. In what is quickly becoming a season to remember, Thaddeus Ward turned in his third straight strong outing for Greenville. The Central Florida product has now struck out 29 batters in his last 25 innings, raising his K/9 to an impressive 10.4 on the season. Having now lowered his ERA to a sharp 2.50, the second-year starter has been impressive in the early going and will look to continue making a name for himself. https://www.milb.com/gameday/power-vs-drive/2019/05/20/573737#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=573737
  10. Yes, the Red Sox are basically treating their players the same way the Oakland Raiders do. Good point.
  11. CJ Chatham will be the opening day 2b IMO (unless Pedroia drags this out even further).
  12. Need about 200 AB's before they are moved up (reduces the SSS factor and allows clubs to see him for a second series). He's at 158 right now. I think a call up in early June makes sense.
  13. @redsoxstats 114.4 mph on that Devers home run, the Red Sox hardest hit ball since last August.
  14. @PeteAbe 3rd most runs (12), 2nd most hits (16) of the season for the Red Sox today.
  15. How about that bum Matt Barnes? He's been horrible this year, right SCM? https://www.fangraphs.com/statsd.aspx?playerid=12863&position=P&gds=&gde=
  16. I just don't see them straight up benching JBJ long term. They don't have decent options on the bench unless they really like JD in the OF. No matter what, JBJ's still going to start a ton of games and be given the opportunity to turn it around. He does still have an option remaining if they want to give him a breather for a few weeks to work on his swing.
  17. Lineups out for today's game. @guerinaustin #RedSox at Toronto: Benintendi LF, Betts RF, Moreland 1B, Bogaerts SS, Devers 3B, Chavis 2B, Pearce DH, Bradley CF, León C, Price P
  18. It's not my turn. It's SPLENDIDSPLINTER's.
  19. You're just mad because you're a POLLYANNA.
  20. Sure CHRISTopher Sale shares letters with CV, but Leon spelled backwards is NOEL. That's a bigger importance IMO.
  21. He was f***ing glorious.
  22. Options Remaining: 1 (2013, 2014) SoxProspects shows him having one. That's surprising.
  23. Leon is not a weak spot.
  24. Sox will need to pick between the two of them IMO. I think they go with Pedroia as they don't want to the potential public backlash (even though I think Holt does much more for the community and is a good "clubhouse guy"). Worst case scenario is they DFA Holt to keep Pedroia on the roster, another team claims Holt and Pedroia's injury is so severe that he has to hit the IL for good. Personally, I'd just nudge Pedroia out the door as I don't believe he has any value left.
