  1. Nothing is ever good enough for some people.
  2. If they keep Helton around for one more year (it looks like they are going to do that at this point) you should have another easy go in 2019.
  3. D'oh... Fire DUMBrowski!
  4. My point is that he has properly used the cupboard. The point of having a MLB team is to win championships. You don't fly banners for having the #1 farm system. You fly banners if you can properly use that farm system to fill MLB positions (Devers, Xander, Betts, JBJ, et al) and trade areas of need (Sale, Kimbrel, Eovaldi).
  5. He hasn't really had enough time to be in AAA by now since he was held back in 2017 due to an injury. To end your second full season in AA isn't a big slight against a player.
  6. Sometimes you make your money back, sometimes you don't. That's why trades like the Pomeranz deal can't be trashed too much. Just remember that they cleared out the farm to get Chris freakin Sale and one of the top 3 closers over the past few years. THEY ALSO WON 108 GAMES AND A WORLD SERIES.
  7. USC has sucked donkeydick this year and they need to fire Helton in the offseason. The line play for USC has been really bad and the team doesn't stretch the field or run the ball the way they should against inferior talent. USC announced on its Twitter account that offensive coordinator Tee Martin, defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze and defensive backs coach Ronnie Bradford are no longer on the coaching staff, joining offensive line coach Neil Callaway, who was let go after eight games this season. It was not a fun year to be a Trojans fan. It should be fun to watch Daniels and St Brown play pitch and catch for the next few years. Not sure a backfield of Carr and Malepeai gets it done though.
  8. People will have to learn how to spell Esteban Quiroz. Editor's note: Pedroia will be playing 150 games this year.
  9. That cupboard has 4 freakin championships.
  10. The same starter depth that got them 108 wins.
  11. Halladay dying is why I put him in. He's way better than a lot of HOF arms and sympathy pushes him in. I think Manny will never get in because he was suspended for a failed test (Palmeiro treatment). I think Bonds and Clemens get in because they never failed a test.
  12. It's not whether they "deserve it" or not, it's project whether the writers will make the right decision or not.
  13. Lester is declining while his contract is really high and the Cubs are in the market for an OFer. Their current CFer has a negative dWAR. Honestly, I think the Sox would pass.
  14. Jon Lester
  15. At least he can have Del's.
  16. We probably got frustrated that there were no hedgehogs to use so we just hit each other.
  17. Julio Teheran
  18. Maybe it's even worse than that. Maybe Dumbo thinks Robertson will retire after year 2 and really wants Robertson to suffer after he is stuck in RI 365 days a year forced to eat hot wieners, party pizza and will forget all the regular accepted rules of driving.
  19. I had a croquet set once. It was taken away due to sibling on sibling violence.
  20. Players that made a big impact that are less remembered: Don Baylor (of all the impact guys on the 86 team, he's probably the one people don't think about) Greenwell (people remember him, but don't remember how f***ing great he was) Boddicker (key in the stretch run of 88 after coming over from O's) Jody Reed (important member of the 88 and 90 teams) John Valentin (perennially underappreciated leader) Bret Saberhagen (really great in 99 when healthy) Reggie Jefferson (peaked in non-playoff years and is forgotten) Carl Everett (greatest hitter alive the first half of 2000) Mueller (we all remember him, but he had so many clutch hits in 04 and the second highest oWAR on the team in 03 too) Scott Williamson (dominant in 03 postseason, great in 04 before injury) Okajima (dominant in 07 and 08, mostly forgotten due to the run of other notable Asian relievers afterwards) Mike Carp (OPS+ of 139 in 2013) Craig Breslow (remembered because he was an ivy league guy, not because he pitched a 229 ERA+ in 13) RHB bench bat Rick Porcello (OPS+ 201 in 2018, slugged a redonkulous .714 when he wasn't striking out 43% of the time, that's Dalbec in single A numbers folks)
  21. His wife is from Medfield which is most likely why they live in the area. Happy wife, happy life.
  22. Just give it a few weeks and this one will get silly too.
