  1. Does Pillar have more value due to positional versatility? Hard to see a team wanting to bring JBJ on as a backup.
  2. There's always room to move some bullpen guys (Barnes and Brasier). I don't think JD or JBJ are going anywhere. Maybe they spin Pillar off for cheap as a 4th OF to someone? I don't see them moving Peraza. I guess they are looking at dealing Vaz, but I think he'll be here tomorrow. Maybe Perez gets moved, but I doubt it. Eovaldi stays for sure.
  3. Hosmer is not a good 1B from what I remember. That Hosmer contract is garbage too. Yuck.
  4. Trading a catcher like Vaz seems more like an offseason move IMO. Only having a month for Vaz to learn a pitching staff before the playoffs is not ideal.
  5. So if the NL DH goes away next year (50/50 chance?), Mitch will be a FA again.
  6. I have never heard of that here.
  7. They usually have good prospects. The major league team is just run like a s*** show.
  8. Looks like they only have one decent catching prospect (Alvarez). Hard to see the Mets moving him for Vazquez though. Maybe the Sox are just going to send them pitching? Looks like the majority of the Mets prospects are position players, so I'm not sure they'd be dealing pitching prospects for Vaz either.
  9. The Mets’ deadline wish list includes a catcher and pitching (both starting and relieving) help, MLB Network’s Jon Heyman tweets. Perhaps in a related item, The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal writes that the Red Sox have been “doing background on Mets minor leaguers,” which could hint at a potential trade. Rosenthal figures Christian Vazquez would be a natural fit to address the Mets’ catching needs, and we’ve already heard that the Sox have discussed Vazquez with the Rays in recent days. Speculatively, such Red Sox hurlers as Martin Perez, Matt Barnes, or Ryan Brasier could potentially be on the Mets’ radar, though the Sox just lost potential trade chip Nathan Eovaldi to the injured list. Can't say I know much about the Mets prospects.
  10. I guess Remy said during the pregame (which I don't have access to watch) that he thought Dalbec's first hit would be a HR.
  11. Competition for eyeballs also include the Angels in OC and Dodgers in LA. There are 3 MLB franchises within 125 miles of each other. Dodgers have a long storied history and are far more popular. Angels and Padres take a back seat in SoCal. The vibe there also isn't one of rabid fandom. If you asked a Padres fan about their suffering, they probably wouldn't understand what you're getting at. Sports fandom here is just different than it is over there.
  12. Mitch was signed for only $3M at the end of January. He’s never been a hot commodity. Better to move him at the height of his value.
  13. I knew someone would fall out of the Monster Seats eventually.
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, here are your past two WS champions! Eck: Yuck!
  15. Since this dumb post: HR, BB, 3B Pulled.
  16. Is he even ready?
  17. Dalbec hitting a bomb today.
  18. Dalbec getting called up: f*** yeah!
  19. Dodgers haven’t won a WS since Thunder was born.
  20. Ockimey called up to platoon?
  21. Dodgers got Trout?
  22. The Marlins are a much bigger surprise than the White Sox IMO.
  23. Lineup card is LATE today.
