  1. Q&A wasn't very exciting. He stated that he didn't bring the Astros scheme to Boston because Sox didn't need it.
  2. During press conference, Cora apologies for what happened and takes full responsibility. Seems genuine. Says he loves being here.
  3. Not that it matters, but Marcus Stroman said on Twitter that he would not play for LaRussa because of these concerns.
  4. And cars have reverse. It's all good!
  5. I can't see Sanchez getting non-tendered. It could happen, but I doubt it. The BABIP gods killed Pham this year. I'd grab him in a second.
  6. He didn't want the fight with the union because the entire scandal would have been an open book to the public. Easier to try and sweep it under the rug.
  7. He's just a kid, dood. Kids make mistakes.
  8. Oof. That's a good one. Unlike Bobby Cox who is a bad boy bad boy.
  9. Only a simple human would say something like that.
  10. Look, he's a young man who has made a mistake. I think this will help him grow as an individual. Let's just move on and worry about the real menaces to baseball: betting on baseball 35 years ago and sign stealing! Things like DUI's and spousal abuse (HOFer Bobby Cox) are just boys will be boys stuff.
  11. Only because nobody actually reads the Boston Herald.
  12. If this was a Rays board, it'd be a conversation we'd be having decades later (ala Grady Little). Also, we're in the portion of the offseason where there isn't a whole hell of a lot to talk about.
  13. I agree. Cora stated that the Sox would spend money, but not go after the larger contracts. I think they'll bring in a lot of the smaller contracts and revamp the roster that way. Rather than AAAA fodder, they can fill up the 25 man rotation on undermarket deals.
  14. Hopefully it'll be a cinch to sack this conversation.
  15. I knew turtles had this problem but was unaware seals ingested the bags too.
  16. How about the fact that he already had a DUI back in February when he crashed his car. But wait, there's more: La Russa pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in Florida in 2007 after police found him asleep inside his running SUV at a stop light and smelling of alcohol. 'I accept full responsibility for my conduct, and assure everyone that I have learned a very valuable lesson and that this will never occur again,' La Russa said at the time. A third DUI would probably lead to jail time for any of us pleebs. However, he's a rich drunk so he'll be just fine.
  17. That's a rollercoaster of a week. Also, 2020 keeps on rewarding us.
  18. Calling it the blame pie goes back to Boston sports talk radio of the 80's with Eddie Andelman.
  19. Collusion
  20. To me, you can asses blame without assessing wrongdoing.
  21. Collusion
  22. And his performance in 2020 didn't really elicit a pay increase. Seems like a reasonable contract to me.
  23. Sox shouldn't have hired a re-tread like Cora!
  24. How do you allocate the blame pie for the pitching woes? 10% Dave Bush 25% Chaim Bloom 25% John Henry's Checkbook 30% COVID and injuries 10% SSS
  25. I think that seems like a pretty good deal for Ray. If this market was really down, why would Ray get offered 8M?
