  1. @alexspeier Jackie Bradley Jr. says that while Red Sox have suggested to media an interest in keeping him beyond his eligibility for free agency this winter, that hasn’t been communicated to him. He says he is looking forward to seeing what the market offers.
  2. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/09/suspensions-issued-to-yankees-rays.html 1. Yankees 2. Rays 3. Put them both in a bag and drown them in a river Which one you got?
  3. Moon's post? No, Jeter Downs is not a a rule V guy this offseason. Jerry Downs is. Jeter Downs won't be rule V eligible until 12/31/21.
  4. For anyone who will be making tonight's thread: @alexspeier JD Martinez back in the lineup and playing LF after missing a couple games following an HBP on the hand. Dalbec in at 1B, Chavis at DH: Verdugo RF, Devers 3B, Bogaerts SS, Martinez LF, Plawecki C, Chavis DH, Bradley Jr. CF, Dalbec 1B, Peraza 2B, Leyer P
  5. I see you have stopped watching this season. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/robinson-leyer/14399/game-log?position=P&season=
  6. @RochieWBZ #RedSox announce RHP Robinson Leyer will start tonight's game, not LHP Mike Kickham. #WBZ
  7. Can't believe Bell lied to me.
  8. Had totally forgotten about him.
  9. No, I believe the point was why make a political analogy at all when two threads were just locked for being overly political and toxic? Seems inappropriate to do so. You even stated that you didn't like that political talk leaked into other threads, but then added your own political spin here. C'mon.
  10. Also hard to move up when there have been no MiLB games. Nothing to really judge the players on.
  11. Why is Jerry Downs in huge font?
  12. It was deleted within the hour. I think the twitter guy posted it thinking it would be funny. Someone higher up found out about it (backlash or otherwise) and told them to take it down. At the end of the day, it was not a good look. This organization makes some really dumb decisions sometimes (Henry going on sports radio to rage on current players, kicking every single former player and coach on their way out the door, Sox Appeal, Henry flip flopping on what the spending limitations were in 2020, etc.). They never treat this like the storied franchise it should be.
  13. https://www.mlb.com/news/2020-midseason-farm-systems-rankings?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage Sox system ranked 25th in newest MLB Pipeline Rankings. Seems about right.
  14. Rusney was an impulse buy for not signing Jose Abreu the previous offseason.
  15. It's run by some lowly paid marketing guy. It was deleted because Bloom/Henry/et al saw it. The tweet was deleted.
  16. Just have to hope that a normal offseason will fix whatever is going on him with him this year.
  17. I don't think the twitter account is run by John Henry or Chaim Bloom.
  18. Chris Hatfield over at SoxProspects: 40-man is currently at 39. + Pedroia, ERod, Sale (they all have to go back on the 40 over the offseason. There's no offseason injured list.) - JBJ, McHugh I do not project that JDM will opt out. So here's what you're working with, plus the 7 they need to add: C: Vazquez, Plawecki, Wong CIF: Devers, Chavis, Dalbec, Potts MIF: Pedroia, Bogaerts, Chatham, Arauz, Peraza OF: Benintendi, Martinez, Wilson, Verdugo, Rosario UT: Lin, Munoz SP: Rodriguez, Sale, Eovaldi, Weber, Hart, Perez, Godley, Pivetta, Groome, Houck, Mata, Seabold RP: Barnes, Walden, Brasier, Brewer, Taylor, Hernandez, Aybar, Brice, Springs, Valdez, Stock, Triggs, Leyer Swing: Mazza, Hall, Covey, Kickham So need at least 8 DFA or non-tenders. Seems clear most is coming from that stack o' pitching. So I'll guess cuts from the following list: Peraza (non-tender), Hart, Springs, Hall, Kickham, Mazza, Triggs, Covey, Walden. Could see one of Munoz or Lin gone although Munoz has an option. All that said, my guess is that trades might work some of this out. And they're going to need to add a starting CF whether it's JBJ, Duran, or someone else; potentially a bench OF if they're not comfortable having Lin fill that role; at least one SP and at least one RP. There is going to be a TON of churn this offseason, likely in the hopes that guys clear and stay, like Gonsalves and Shawaryn recently.
  19. Ward, Mata, Houck, Groome, DHern for Mookie. You're trading 8 future CY seasons for an overpaid player! They'd jump at that!!!
  20. They just don't have starting pitching depth in the high minors that they can bring up. If they had more guys, maybe they'd risk Mata, but it's better to just continue punting on this season.
  21. They should trade Verdugo, Downs and Wong for him.
  22. Houck just isn't ready. I don't think they want to throw him out there as a starter and get lit up. They'll probably transition him to the pen at some point. I think they value his potential and don't want to get in his head. Seabold? Maybe they want to work with him a little longer to get a feel for him. I think they are probably trying to correct Pivetta's issues. I think they are just looking for fungible bodies to put in innings this year.
  23. There are no kids to start, unless you are going to bring up Mata, which I wouldn't. Save those bullets for a real season.
