  1. He was fine as a reliever last year (3.51 xfip). They never should have tried him out in the starting role (5.15 xfip).
  2. Valdez got hit hard by the Jays in back to back appearances. Get rid of those (aberrations?) and his numbers look better.
  3. Odor's contract isn't that bad, but if he can only play 2b, his lack of versatility in the field doesn't make it worth the risk. I'm not sure a one year deal for any trade makes sense to this year's team. They aren't quite contenders.
  4. If they are making him a backup, I'd rather just waive him.
  5. I'd DFA Chatham and Wilson before Mazza, Brewer and Valdez.
  6. I'd keep Mazza and Brewer around, though they could sneak probably through waivers. I don't think Valdez sneaks through though.
  7. They could barely deal with the Whomping Willow. How are they going to deal with some Velociraptors?
  8. I would have pushed a lot of them out. If you don't really see a future for a guy on your team, better to cut him now to give him an opportunity to see if he sticks on somewhere else. If they are still looking for a seat during Spring Training, you could bring them back again if you wanted.
  9. The Harry Potter movies would have been over after the first one if he just learned to summon a 25 ton herbivore instead of Wingardium Leviosa.
  10. It's more likely that you get a decent performance in 2021 out of him than you get a decent trade for him today.
  11. I tend to agree. I would have DFA'd him by now.
  12. He was getting hit hard last year. If he doesn't get his slider back, he's toast.
  13. Agree. And selling him now is getting absolute bottom dollar for him. Don't see how another bad season would tank his value any further.
  14. His contract is good for his production.
  15. Apatosaurus. I don't agree with the newer studies that try to shoehorn Brontie in as it's own species.
  16. Norm, Rob and Randy appreciate this.
  17. Last offseason, Weber kept sneaking through. There's been a lot of smoke from the media that the Sox like Brice. I just think they keep him around until the end of Spring Training and maybe DFA him then, but I think there's always someone else they can dump if they think Brice's swing and miss potential is worth holding on to.
  18. The only real standout names are Wong, LeMahieu and Kim. I don't seem them splurging on the first two. Maybe Kim can be an attractive piece? Do they believe in Downs enough to just wait for him? Maybe they just don't want a long term guy slotted in right now?
  19. I don't think Brice gets DFA'd. Otherwise, why tender him a contract?
  20. Should the Sox go with a guy currently on the roster or get a FA? If so, who?
  21. I'm still saying it was either the tech bros or the purple bud. That's the only reason to give him a QO.
  22. I think it means they could pick a Rule V guy, are looking to trade or are getting ready to sign someone. Munoz can still get claimed in the Rule V draft, but why would you do so if you could have just grabbed him on waivers. Maybe the Sox just figured waive him now when people are intentionally leaving 40 man slots open?
  23. Honestly, he only played one season after I was born so he wasn't a guy I really had heard of until recent years. For whatever reason, he flew under the HOF radar for a long while. I read Jay Jaffe's book "The Cooperstown Casebook" and he give some solid evidence as to why Allen should be inducted as well as some other names.
  24. Should be HOF
