  1. "Sort itself out at some point" is just not a great plan in my point. The only way it gets sorted out is injury, bad play or trade. I originally wanted Tolle in the pen, but understand why they want to keep Tolle stretched out for the rotation. He's a dynamic arm and is still really learning his secondary pitches.
  2. I think the starting rotation will be fine. I think Durbin will be ok. My concern is that the bullpen should have really been added to AND the OF rotation is still a messy puzzle that doesn't work.
  3. We'll see if Harrison develops Thoracic Outlet Syndrome too.
  4. I think they tend to overhype a certain type of player TBH. They do a better job than anyone else does.
  5. Rafaela has a good k rate (19.9%). It's not surprising that he is k'ing less than the other guys TBH. He swings at everything, but just makes a lot of bad contact.
  6. 2025: 1-5 made the playoffs 2011: 0-6 missed the playoffs We got the one win already, so we're good.
  7. You know what other recent Sox team won the Opener and dropped the next three? 2020
  8. The hype train was in overdrive.
  9. Ranger will be fine over the long haul. I think the WBC is just bad for pitching and getting ready for the season.
  10. They needed one more hitter. Trying to win every game 3-2 is easier said than done.
  11. Sometimes, if you talk about something that a poster doesn't like it's made out to the biggest deal in the world. In all honesty, it's only been 3 games and there isn't much to talk about unless we want to get knives out for Weissert. 39.45 xERA (bottom 1%) 1071 xwOBAcon 1197 SLG 40% PullAIR
  12. They are 22nd in runs, tied with the White Sox and the Marlins. Their OPS is 12th, so maybe SSS.
  13. Option 2 looks very k heavy too me. I saw elsewhere someone suggesting Contreras for #2.
  14. Blowouts: 2025 Red Sox: 26-15 (285-184) underperformed Pythagoras 2025 Blue Jays: 25-23 (289-269) overperformed Pythagoras
  15. I'd rather bring in a reliever with empty bases than continue to try to sneak one more out from a starter's arm.
  16. How did Samaniego look? He hasn't pitched above AA before but some believe he'll be up in BOS soon.
  17. It's a lineup I presented before. How about with Masa as DH? Anthony Masa Contreras Abreu Story Duran Durbin Mayer Wong
  18. In this analogy, is that leading you towards being anti-Cora or heading away from being anti-Cora?
  19. Rafaela is better as a bottom of the order guy. Durbin maybe could be a #2 at some point as he didn't k much last year, but has zero power. Duran k's about as much as Story and I don't think you want Anthony and Duran going back to back. The only big RHB is Contreras. In order to protect Anthony and not have anyone pitch around him: Duran Durbin Anthony Contreras Abreu Story Mayer Narvaez Rafaela
  20. Why wait until a 3-2 count to go? https://www.mlb.com/reds/video/tony-santillan-foul-to-willson-contreras-o18ghb
