  1. Could have the best starting rotation sitting on the IL in league history!
  2. Is that because of all the strong talk about teammates having German's back, but that "he's on thin ice"?
  3. He could either be a big bargain or just a guy who never makes it out of Spring Training. He's averaged 15 starts the past 6 years and only 84 innings. If anyone is a low risk/high reward guy, it might be him.
  4. They don't even get their own baseball cards!
  5. @redsoxstats Red Sox games on tv next week: Mon March 1, Braves, 1p NESN Tue March 2, Rays, 1p ESPN Sat March 6, Twins, 1p NESN Sun March 7, Braves, 1p NESN
  6. I think it was the opening in their rotation that did the trick.
  7. Jim Rice Mo Vaughn Pedro Devers There were substantial gaps between all 4 players where I didn't have a favorite active player. Really, when Pedro did his final media interview during the 04 playoffs and inferred he didn't know where he'd be in 05, I realized that having a favorite player is just next to impossible these days.
  8. Kiké is supposed to be a great guy to root for. We’ll see.
  9. That was the move to make Marwin official.
  10. Plawecki off COVID list?
  11. Probably just call up Arauz in the mean time. Maybe not even worry about it until April? They can use 75 players in ST, so they don't have to stick to just the 40 man for workouts and games.
  12. @ChrisCotillo Red Sox should have some roster moves by the end of the day, Cora said.
  13. All set. It still lists the draft as being offline. I'm guess that's just because we haven't discussed a date. The only days I can't typically do are Thursdays.
  14. Same thing with Paplebon. I just remember him struggling if he ever came in with runners on or had to go more than one inning.
  15. Franchy tested positive at intake, so we have no idea when he'll come back. No word about his symptoms.
  16. Will not be on the opening day roster.
  17. It doesn't. You originally noted that he was posting from Naples and that it was close to Ft Myers. It's relation to Ft Myers is only important because that's where he used to play in the winter from 2014 - 2020. The fact that he's there now has no bearing on his interest in signing with the Sox. If he wanted to sign elsewhere, there are a few teams also currently in FL that showed interest. Maybe he's down there in hopes of latching on with another team? Maybe he's down there just to get away from the winter? I don't think it's any indication of his willingness to play for the Sox.
  18. Is he commuting from Naples currently?
  19. Chance that Sawamura isn't available on opening day. Maybe swap him with Houck/Brewer?
  20. Is that not driving distance?
  21. A step up from where we were very recently.
  22. @pgammo While awaiting some idea from Scott Boras on a way to make rookie service time workable for both sides, remembwe Bobby Grich @Rochester , 1970(.383/.503/.570/1.074), 1971(.336/.439/.632/1.071)... Orioles won pennants each year. Mark Belanger&Davey Johnson were SS-2B. Grich played short, with Ron Shelton--Bull Durham, Cobb, etc.--at 2B. If Grich had played 150 G for O's those two years, would he be in the HOF?
  23. Naples is also just a drive away from the Phillies, Mets and Astros who have also been linked to JBJ.
  24. If he did have more value, he would have been moved.
