  1. Is the Boras part of the equation the reason he's not signed anywhere?
  2. Guys like that are really low risk/low reward signings. It's not like there is a bevy of OF prospects that Fowler would get in the way of.
  3. WOO fans would like him.
  4. Every teams needs a 4th OFer.
  5. 150 for ERod sounds low. We'll see. Austin Brice getting 55 innings though? Woof. Or not.
  6. Not sure he'll be effective enough to get to 180 innings.
  7. If they aren't paying JBJ 2/14, there's no way they are swinging a trade for Cain. I don't see the Brewers eating $20M.
  8. Depending on ERod's health, I could see Perez leading the team with 190 innings or so. Richards is a question mark for sure. Sale won't be there for a full season. Eovaldi is almost never healthy.
  9. I wouldn't say just is the key word there.
  10. Robert Murray of FanSided reports that the Brewers are "in the mix" with free agent outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. The Astros are reportedly out and the Mets appear to be pivoting with no clarity on the DH, so that leaves room for a surprise team to swoop in. The Red Sox continue to stay in touch, so a reunion remains within the realm of possibility. As of now, the Brewers project to have Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain, and Avisail Garcia across their outfield, though there's been at least some degree of trade chatter with Cain. Barring that, we could see a lot of Garcia on the bench.
  11. @ChrisCotillo Franchy Cordero is not yet with the Red Sox. Cora isn't sure of the exact reason. Might be a visa issue.
  12. @PeteAbe Franchy Cordero has not yet reported to #RedSox camp. MALCONTENT!!!
  13. @ChrisCotillo Cora on Bogaerts' defense: "He's not perfect, but whatever he touches, he turns into outs." Says advanced metrics penalize him... "He's just a shortstop who hits .300, hits 30 and drives 100."
  14. So you have no problem paying him like an elite 3B then?
  15. And if they extend him at a reasonable rate and he could exceed the contract, it would be worth the risk.
  16. Yes, JD won't be better than 2020. Devers won't be better than 2020. The changes to the starting pitching staff won't matter a lick! Bullpen? Just as bad as last year!
  17. Maybe? 994 OPS at Coors 760 OPS elsewhere
  18. But Judge hit the ball so insanely hard though. It was just bad luck. He's a magical creature who will be great forever and ever.
  19. Correa is worse than Bogey at SS.
  20. Last time Cora was manager, he hit 5th or above 17% of the time. He spent the majority of his time hitting 6th or 7th (27% and 25%, respectively). He also had way more PA's hitting 8th or 9th (30% combined). I think Vaz may hit 5th from time to time, but he's more likely to be a 6th or 7th hitter depending on how well he's going.
  21. @IanCundall Rocker and Leiter are the probable starters for Vandy's season opening doubleheader today, starting at 1pm.
  22. I don't expect his #'s to be that low. That's baseline in a bad year for him. He did hit 868 from 8/9 on. That seems more likely of a scenario than his documented early season struggle.
  23. I mentioned it offhandedly last week. It was just in reference to moon being down on him defensively. If the plan is to eventually move Devers off 3B, you could slide Devers to 3B and maybe Yorke or Downs is the future SS? Maybe they can get someone else in FA? I don't think it's anything that would happen for a few more years.
  24. Let me try a good Yankee fan argument... Last 20 years: Red Sox 4 WS Yankees 1 WS
