  1. And without us, this board would turn into freeforums.net or bosoxboard.com or something worse.
  2. I don't know what I could possibly be doing that could provide more value to society than posting on here?
  3. We had a discussion about him being better on one leg than Arroyo a few weeks ago. He’s included as “already on roster.”
  4. It’s why Pedroia’s leg died on the vine too.

  6. @jcmccaffrey Red Sox statement: "The Red Sox and the City of Lowell today announce that they are working to keep baseball in the Lowell community. The two sides are in the early stages of evaluating various opportunities for the 2021 season, and will continue to discuss longer-term options" AKA, trying to get some sort of amateur wood bat league team for Lowell that is not affiliated with the Sox.
  7. Background on de-affiliation process of MiLB: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/a-complete-guide-to-mlb-and-milbs-negotiations/
  8. @SmittyOnMLB Worcester, Portland, Greenville and Salem will remain affiliates, per BA's report. It also is reporting Greenville is High A and Salem is Low A now No more Spinners for now.
  9. I believe the hit against the lux tax is only 8.3M for Odor. I don't care about the cash.
  10. I agree that I'd leave Verdugo in RF, sign a glove first CF and get a one year deal at 2b unless they are going long term for Wong or Kim.
  11. Lance Lynn for one year doesn't help the Sox if they are on the outside looking in.
  12. The real Valdez has a 27.00 ERA?
  13. He was fine as a reliever last year (3.51 xfip). They never should have tried him out in the starting role (5.15 xfip).
  14. Valdez got hit hard by the Jays in back to back appearances. Get rid of those (aberrations?) and his numbers look better.
  15. Odor's contract isn't that bad, but if he can only play 2b, his lack of versatility in the field doesn't make it worth the risk. I'm not sure a one year deal for any trade makes sense to this year's team. They aren't quite contenders.
  16. If they are making him a backup, I'd rather just waive him.
  17. I'd DFA Chatham and Wilson before Mazza, Brewer and Valdez.
  18. I'd keep Mazza and Brewer around, though they could sneak probably through waivers. I don't think Valdez sneaks through though.
  19. They could barely deal with the Whomping Willow. How are they going to deal with some Velociraptors?
  20. I would have pushed a lot of them out. If you don't really see a future for a guy on your team, better to cut him now to give him an opportunity to see if he sticks on somewhere else. If they are still looking for a seat during Spring Training, you could bring them back again if you wanted.
  21. The Harry Potter movies would have been over after the first one if he just learned to summon a 25 ton herbivore instead of Wingardium Leviosa.
  22. It's more likely that you get a decent performance in 2021 out of him than you get a decent trade for him today.
  23. I tend to agree. I would have DFA'd him by now.
  24. He was getting hit hard last year. If he doesn't get his slider back, he's toast.
