  1. Agree. And selling him now is getting absolute bottom dollar for him. Don't see how another bad season would tank his value any further.
  2. His contract is good for his production.
  3. Apatosaurus. I don't agree with the newer studies that try to shoehorn Brontie in as it's own species.
  4. Norm, Rob and Randy appreciate this.
  5. Last offseason, Weber kept sneaking through. There's been a lot of smoke from the media that the Sox like Brice. I just think they keep him around until the end of Spring Training and maybe DFA him then, but I think there's always someone else they can dump if they think Brice's swing and miss potential is worth holding on to.
  6. The only real standout names are Wong, LeMahieu and Kim. I don't seem them splurging on the first two. Maybe Kim can be an attractive piece? Do they believe in Downs enough to just wait for him? Maybe they just don't want a long term guy slotted in right now?
  7. I don't think Brice gets DFA'd. Otherwise, why tender him a contract?
  8. Should the Sox go with a guy currently on the roster or get a FA? If so, who?
  9. I'm still saying it was either the tech bros or the purple bud. That's the only reason to give him a QO.
  10. I think it means they could pick a Rule V guy, are looking to trade or are getting ready to sign someone. Munoz can still get claimed in the Rule V draft, but why would you do so if you could have just grabbed him on waivers. Maybe the Sox just figured waive him now when people are intentionally leaving 40 man slots open?
  11. Honestly, he only played one season after I was born so he wasn't a guy I really had heard of until recent years. For whatever reason, he flew under the HOF radar for a long while. I read Jay Jaffe's book "The Cooperstown Casebook" and he give some solid evidence as to why Allen should be inducted as well as some other names.
  12. Should be HOF
  13. I'm fine with that too. Plus actually forcing teams to use their expanded squads if they run into a COVID situation rather than just shutting a team down for 2 weeks a la Marlins.
  14. He needed both. He supposedly looked really good at instructs. Again, we have NOTHING to go on.
  15. Eovaldi is not worth his contract tho.
  16. I think they should schedule a 140 game season for 4/1 - 9/30. I would have a week off from scheduled games after the ASB so that COVID impacted teams could reschedule. I'd also have a week at end where no games are currently scheduled for the same reason. The NFL is currently railroading a 17 week season in, no reason MLB can't figure it out too. They should just make the schedule with a pencil with a big eraser and adjust as needed.
  17. I could see Feltman and Bazardo up this year. Feltman was bad in 2019, but apparently showed increased velo this year. Would be nice to see.
  18. Per Speier, Sox like Brice because he gets batters to swing and miss at a decent rate. He just has no control and walked everyone last year. They believe they can fix it and make an above average reliever. I don't quite buy into it. There have been drumbeats all offseason that Brice was coming back. I never understood it.
  19. It's his last year under contract. Grip it and rip it and see what happens.
  20. 1. The Sox should never be messing around with "team control" stuff. They have the budget and means to play everyone who is ready. 2. If Mata comes up, it won't be as an opener. He'll be full Voltron when up 3. I think you're getting a little too cute with your months needed for starters calculation. 4. I already said that they should sign Lester and Perez due to their durability. 5. I don't think they need a AAA type. They already have Hart. He's the AAA/AAAA guy.
  21. "Get the duck boats ready!" Kidding aside, if the bullpen is better, I would have no problem with this.
  22. ERod pitched 200 innings as a 26 year old two years ago. He was out last year, but it had nothing to do with his arm. He'll be fine.
  23. @PeteAbe Jackie Bradley Jr. is "definitely on our radar" according to #RedSox GM Brian O'Halloran.
