  1. Maybe? Reports are that he's have no after affects and that he's ready to go. Hard to say until we get through the year.
  2. I hope he does and then they deal him.
  3. Maybe it was the 6.12 FIP from last year? Maybe it's because he doesn't throw overly hard or get a lot of spin? There's just nothing that stands out about him. If he didn't have such a strong 2019, I don't think people would see him in the same light.
  4. I'm surprised they've stuck with Charlie Montoyo this long. They have a very talented lineup, but always seem to be undisciplined. As a team, they make some weird mistakes and decisions at times. I don't know if it's just because of the age of the players or they just aren't coached well.
  5. If he flames out, it doesn't matter. Like I said, the more important piece is the PTBNL from the Mets.
  6. I don't see the point in worrying about pool money at the deadline. If they are buyers at the deadline, they should go all in rather than just picking up an extra 2-3M.
  7. That was my thinking. Seems like 2/12 makes sense. We also don't know if JBJ has turned down other offers or what else has been on the table. Seems like 2/12 would be far below his asking price. Also, it's cheap enough dollars where it doesn't really impact the team much if Duran/Francy/Verdugo become the opening day starters next season.
  8. Fretting for some rich ******* who got fired is a very weird look. MLB is very PR heavy. If you're dumb enough say some guys in your org are overpaid, have big personalities and need interpreters, you probably need to not be a spokesperson for the organization. Part of his job is to communicate to the public. He sucked at it and got fired. That's not "he got cancelled." HE GOT HIS ASS FIRED FOR BEING A DUMBASS.
  9. And Koby, Kacy and Kody Clemens.
  10. Like with all Boras clients, there are a lot of teams "showing interest" in JBJ. However, it's hard to say what the extent of the interest is. If the Astros and Mets are out, it seems like the higher bidders aren't interested. Maybe the Sox can swoop in and offer 2/12?
  11. @GeoffBakerTIMES BREAKING: The Mariners and former high performance director Lorena Martin in recent months quietly resolved her wrongful termination case. @craigcalcaterra This case involved accusations that Mariners' top brass used racist comments about foreign-born Mariners players. Feel like "the day after the defendants created a fantastic plaintiff's exhibit" is a good day to settle it!
  12. @mlbtraderumors Red Sox Claim Joel Payamps, Place Franchy Cordero On COVID Injured List
  13. Is the Boras part of the equation the reason he's not signed anywhere?
  14. Guys like that are really low risk/low reward signings. It's not like there is a bevy of OF prospects that Fowler would get in the way of.
  15. WOO fans would like him.
  16. Every teams needs a 4th OFer.
  17. 150 for ERod sounds low. We'll see. Austin Brice getting 55 innings though? Woof. Or not.
  18. Not sure he'll be effective enough to get to 180 innings.
  19. If they aren't paying JBJ 2/14, there's no way they are swinging a trade for Cain. I don't see the Brewers eating $20M.
  20. Depending on ERod's health, I could see Perez leading the team with 190 innings or so. Richards is a question mark for sure. Sale won't be there for a full season. Eovaldi is almost never healthy.
  21. I wouldn't say just is the key word there.
  22. Robert Murray of FanSided reports that the Brewers are "in the mix" with free agent outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. The Astros are reportedly out and the Mets appear to be pivoting with no clarity on the DH, so that leaves room for a surprise team to swoop in. The Red Sox continue to stay in touch, so a reunion remains within the realm of possibility. As of now, the Brewers project to have Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain, and Avisail Garcia across their outfield, though there's been at least some degree of trade chatter with Cain. Barring that, we could see a lot of Garcia on the bench.
  23. @ChrisCotillo Franchy Cordero is not yet with the Red Sox. Cora isn't sure of the exact reason. Might be a visa issue.
  24. @PeteAbe Franchy Cordero has not yet reported to #RedSox camp. MALCONTENT!!!
