  1. An idea that was offhandedly floated at the beginning of the offseason. Idea is that starters would be out of whack from last year. However, you rightly point out they probably don’t have the staff to do it.
  2. TODAY: Red Sox at Twins: Hernández SS, Duran CF, Renfroe RF, Devers 3B, Vázquez C, Dalbec 1B, Arroyo 2B, Chavis DH, Gettys LF, Eovaldi RHP
  3. He grew up a Sox fan, so that’s cool.
  4. Sunday is fine with me. A700, I can do 7pm that Saturday.
  5. I can’t do a Saturday AM draft, it’s during little league. I could do anytime late afternoon or after. Could maybe do 1 or 2 pm.
  6. No Northeastern or BC game this year? How will we know if this team will be good enough to beat up on mediocre college teams
  7. Sawamura update: @PeteAbe Hirokazu Sawamura yet to make an appearance at #RedSox camp. Cora said it should be less than a week and that he's on a throwing program where he is.
  8. Built like a cement mixer filled with ice cream and two flat tires.
  9. @redsoxstats Vazquez down 15 pounds, Dalbec down 10, Raffy and JDM slimmed down. @MarlyRiveraESPN was on the Baseball Tonight podcast today talking about how it stuck out to her how good the Red Sox fitness level was. That time of year again, folks.
  10. We could be in for a very wild rollercoaster of a ride for this season with Dalbec. Dude could mash and be on the All Star team. A more extreme version of the Chris Davis MLB experience?
  11. This is a guy who OPS'd well over 900 last season at age 25. We can only expect him to be at or better than that as he enters his prime 27-31. I haven't been wrong in my projections of similar players like Devers over the past 5 years! -jacko's Red Sox fan loving cousin
  12. @PeteAbe Nick Yorke, the first-round pick in June, is in camp. Was in HS at this time last year.
  13. Yeah, I typically don't believe in the term "low risk/high reward" but this might be one of the rare cases.
  14. Could have the best starting rotation sitting on the IL in league history!
  15. Is that because of all the strong talk about teammates having German's back, but that "he's on thin ice"?
  16. He could either be a big bargain or just a guy who never makes it out of Spring Training. He's averaged 15 starts the past 6 years and only 84 innings. If anyone is a low risk/high reward guy, it might be him.
  17. They don't even get their own baseball cards!
  18. @redsoxstats Red Sox games on tv next week: Mon March 1, Braves, 1p NESN Tue March 2, Rays, 1p ESPN Sat March 6, Twins, 1p NESN Sun March 7, Braves, 1p NESN
  19. I think it was the opening in their rotation that did the trick.
  20. Jim Rice Mo Vaughn Pedro Devers There were substantial gaps between all 4 players where I didn't have a favorite active player. Really, when Pedro did his final media interview during the 04 playoffs and inferred he didn't know where he'd be in 05, I realized that having a favorite player is just next to impossible these days.
  21. Kiké is supposed to be a great guy to root for. We’ll see.
  22. That was the move to make Marwin official.
  23. Plawecki off COVID list?
  24. Probably just call up Arauz in the mean time. Maybe not even worry about it until April? They can use 75 players in ST, so they don't have to stick to just the 40 man for workouts and games.
