  1. @Feinsand Cashman on Boone: "If he was entering the free-agent market, I believe he would be the number one managerial candidate in baseball."
  2. He was good the 1.5 years after being traded, but started sucking in 2013. I don't remember why though... Houston Astros prospect Jonathan Singleton, a rising star in the organization and the team's first baseman of the future, has been suspended for the first 50 games of the 2013 season for his second violaton of minor league baseball's drug policy. Oh yeah...
  3. Makes sense since I believe Scherzer is durable and good, but Greinke is not.
  4. If you are the type of person who has a choreographed HR celebration, I don't think you'd care what any other player does during a game.
  5. @redsoxpayroll -Sale lined up for tomorrow on full rest after a short outing. -Today can be used as Eovaldi's throw day and he can still start G6 on Friday. -Houck 5.0IP Oct 8 and has been used twice since for 1.0IP each (last on Fri). -Otto has only 3.0IP in Oct, but 2x against HOU (Fri/Sat)
  6. Ah, but what if he didn't trader Espinoza to the Padres and used him instead of Kopech for Sale?!?!?!?
  7. Is he going to hit better in the ALCS because ERod pointed at his watch? Does Correa need more motivation than "Astros are down 2-1 in the ALCS"? I don't think it matters to anyone except the fans and the media. Correa said he didn't care about it.
  8. The problem is the owners for not getting rid of Cashman.
  9. Unfortunately, they had the idiotic "don't sign old pitchers" rule at the time.
  10. I'm not sure Casas has maximized his potential trade value yet. I don't think Bloom would dump him this early.
  11. I disagree with Castillo. They signed Castillo to make up for them not signing Abreu the previous offseason. Hanley > Castillo > Panda
  12. Spoiled Yankees? There are miserable Yankees fans in college right now who only saw 1 championship back when they were in elementary school. It's a franchise on the ropes and taking body blows. I agree with jacko, George wouldn't have let this drag on.
  13. And it's not like there was an opening at DH they needed to fill.
  14. Well, yeah. I like notin's idea of looking into some younger arms though.
  15. I usually don't make a big generalization on how the season is going until Memorial Day. Think of all the times Ortiz started off slow and then mashed.
  16. He is the type of guy who could just figure it out and go on a run, but he's not setting up the Sox to succeed right now. Dodgers offense is RH heavy, so I'm not sure he's a good play against them.
  17. The day the Sox signed Pablo and Hanley was a very confusing time on here. Nobody quite knew what the plan was for those two. We never really found out either. Should have just signed Hanley and left Pablo alone.
  18. Sox should go for high upside guys. With the Sox current roster construction, they need guys that can throw lots of k's. Greinke is basically a ground ball pitcher who would have a good FIP here, but his ERA would suffer with the cement shoes in the IF.
  19. *praise hands emoji*
  20. Most obscure guy to win a WS ring with the Sox? Earl Snyder: 1 G, 4 PA, 0 H, 1K, 0 BB, -0.1 fWAR, he did make 3 assists and 2 putouts in his one game at 3b. He hit 58 bombs for the PAWSOX in 03-04.
  21. I'm happy with Schwarber's career 148 OPS+ at Fenway.
  22. Even if he pitched just ok, it is a smart move. He either takes it and stays another year or the Sox can go out and grab another QO guy without losing a pick.
