  1. I don't believe they are waiting on 2025. I believe they are waiting on 2022/2023.
  2. Cashman is a good company man. Hal cares about the company. He doesn't seem to really care about winning titles. Sometimes you have to shake things up even if you think the person in the position is good enough.
  3. He's stuck around for a lot longer than 98% of the posters on here. I believe his was also kicked off a Yankees forum for being too negative about the Yankees. It's annoying that he likes a really dumb team, but I don't think he's necessarily malicious. He does provided valuable insight from time to time. If people are really bothered by him they are always free to use the "ignore" feature.
  4. I think Folty is a unique case. He really only had one good season. His whiff rate percentile dropped to bottom 3%! His FB spin rate was 70% percentile in 2018, but dropped to 25% this season. If everyone else dropped at a similar rate, he'd still be closer to 70th percentile. It's the percentile drop that stands out. Maybe he was using spider tack in 2018. Why did he drop off in 2019? Did he stop using it then? When you look at statcast, he's a well below average pitcher for every season but 2018. Sometimes guys just have one good season and disappear. I think that's what happened to Folty. I'm not sure I'd even want him wasting a AAA spot.
  5. I was hopeful yesterday afternoon that the 2021 Sox had a few more wins left in them. Maybe they still do? Regardless, this season has been the most enjoyably frustrating team in recent memory. It made up for 2020 IMO and showed us there is a little hope for the future.
  6. They could just make it a reviewable play.
  7. I am very far out on Ottavino. Maybe I just end up missing his good appearances?
  8. @PeteAbe Today would be Xander Bogaerts' 43rd playoff game, tying him with Manny Ramirez for 4th in Red Sox history. Only Ortiz (76), Varitek (63) and Pedroia (51) would have more.
  9. I trust this bullpen more than I trust my kids to brush their teeth.
  10. With the k zone overlay, the complaints about umpiring is at an all time high.
  11. They just need to be programmed to have Laz's personality but not his strike zone.
  12. Same lineup as Game 1. 1. Enrique Hernandez CF 2. Kyle Schwarber 1B 3. Xander Bogaerts SS 4. Rafael Devers 3B 5. J.D. Martinez DH 6. Hunter Renfroe RF 7. Alex Verdugo LF 8. Christian Arroyo 2B 9. Christian Vazquez C
  13. Yes, a thousand times yes.
  14. https://umpscorecards.com/site-data/umpires.html They should just retire the bottom 5 umps every year.
  15. He's apparently a really great guy tho!
  16. Cora made the right move, the players just didn't perform.
  17. How does the recency effect affect momentum?
  18. Never heard a single poster suggest Robles or Davis either.
  19. Spin rate and movement is down across the board.
  20. Houck may be put in fairly early.
  21. Good news: Austin Davis has a 0.00 ERA this postseason! Bad news: He's only faced two batters and walked one of them.
  22. So he punted on a year they were in first place at the deadline and now find themselves in the ALCS. Odd time to punt IMO.
  23. Dodgers fans should be able to watch their home team over the lunch break in the NLCS. It's good for the game. Think of all the kids riding home on the bus listening to their transistor radios.
  24. https://twitter.com/EvanMarinofsky/status/1450668904188108806 That's a strike all day.
