  1. And that's the big question. Is it total innings that provides the value or high leverage innings?
  2. No, you wouldn't have "two- 2 inning closers." It would be one closer who finishes the game and another "fireman" who comes in during the game and puts out the fire.
  3. If turn-arounds are the norm, should we expect a tail-spin in the near future then?
  4. Maybe he can become Joe Kelly? IDK.
  5. Rays have consistently had starters only go 4-5 innings and have been a very good team. Wonder if Bloom goes that way. Can either push Houck and Whitlock to that role or keep them as the important multi inning reliever role that McHugh excelled in this year.
  6. Read that he "could" be available for WS. Seems unlikely? If you can go, you have to pitch in the ALCS or you never make it to the WS. Maybe they look at the Sox the way the Rays did.
  7. On Phil Nevin: @jay_jaffe with an MLB-high 22 outs at home this year (not including Aaron Judge in the Wild Card game), this move was inevitable.
  8. @lindseyadler News: Yankees have informed hitting coach Marcus Thames that his contract will not be renewed for the 2022 season. @lindseyadler Sources: Assistant hitting coach P.J. Pilittere will also not have his contract renewed by the Yankees for 2022. Pilittere was drafted by the Yankees in 2004 and has been with the organization since. @lindseyadler News: Yankees have also informed third base coach Phil Nevin that his contract will not be renewed for the 2022 season.
  9. That's what good content looks like.
  10. @NBCSEdgeBB McCullers (forearm) 'most likely out' for ALCS
  11. Odds to win the series: HOU: -162 BOS: +135
  12. Barnes will be good next year. One of Houck and Whitlock will stay in the pen. Feltman will be called up. Opening day bullpen of Whitlock, Barnes, Brasier, Taylor, Davis, DHern, Sawamura, Feltman/Bazardo/Valdez isn't the worst thing in the world (and basically resembles what we have now), but I'd rather bring in some new blood. Davis, DHern and Sawamura are expendable.
  13. You are the most wrong poster here. From the real ALCS thread:
  14. No, when you order just hit the red easy button.
  15. The moustache rides weren't free... I remember being at Fenway when fans were chanting her name.
  16. Spend it on the right guys, duh...
  17. No, because Kimbrel fell apart the last time we had him for a stretch run and was overpriced.
  18. Get this tattooed on my throat, but the numbers would be 5318008.
  19. 3.03 FIP with the Sox, 6.75 ERA, .439 BABIP 8/19 - 9/30/18: 2.84 ERA (last 13 appearances)
  20. A look at how other Sea Dogs fared: Kole Cottam 0-for-1 Andrew Politi: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 SO, 0 BB
  21. Like Millar, I also drink whiskey before starting my job. That 10 key isn't going to sum itself.
  22. Cowboy up was a reference to Wade Boggs getting injured while taking off his cowboy boots.
  23. Love to trade top 10 prospects for a projected 0 fWAR player.
  24. I have no memory of Game 1 and 2. None. That's how bad Game 3 was.
