  1. Of course, this means they'll just sign two low end SPs, a reliever and 3 UTIL guys.
  2. Any wins prior to the deadline weren't really "big wins" IMO.
  3. Marwin is already gone. I'm fine with the other guys leaving, but I still lean towards trying to get ERod to stay on the QO. Sox should have money to spend this winter. I just hope they don't go the frugal route do to "uncertainty" over the CBA.
  4. That's how it works when you expand the playoffs. Teams that don't feel like juggernauts can sneak in and just be kinda ugly.
  5. Not sure we can really pat ourselves on the back for beating the O's. Losing to good teams and then beating up on bad teams isn't a recipe for playoff success.
  6. Of these players, the only real keepers are: Verdugo Kiké Renfroe Whitlock Schwarber The rest you can throw back in the pond and it won't affect the team.
  7. A total rebuild when having 2 better starters in your rotation would make you a WS contender. People are crazy.
  8. I hope everyone had a truly wonderful weekend and are feeling just great today.
  9. This was very very close the last few days. Wonder when they'll finalize the numbers.
  10. I didn't realize that it was a club option for next year. Honestly, I like Vaz, but I'd let him go.
  11. Depends on if they pay Xander. Also should have kept Pedro.
  12. It would go on a nicer stadium.
  13. Let's get some retractable roof talk going in the chat.
  14. I don't mind the players earning $$$. I mind the Sox owners not paying the players I like that $$$.
  15. 40th overall in fWAR. 7th in WRC+ (right behind Nelson Cruz, which seems right). How people feel about Nelson Cruz is how people should feel about JD Martinez. Since 2016: Cruz $73.4M JD $94M
  16. SoxProspects have him ranked at 55, which is fine?
  17. Granberg: Greeville 1058 OPS Portland 800 OPS He's 26, so I'm not going to drool too much over those A+ numbers.
  18. JUL 866 OPS AUG 596 OPS SEP 1069 OPS If he didn't struggle in August, I could see them pushing him up to AAA. My guess is that they start him in AA and he's called up early in the season.
  19. From 2014 when he was still a SS: 10) Franchy Cordero, SS, Grade B-: Ineffective in Low-A (.188/.237/.235 in 94 PA) but stronger in short-season ball, .279/.329/.458, wRC+117 in 259 PA in the Northwest League. Young at age 20, but not that young, will try again in full-season ball next year. 10. Franchy Cordero, 3B Video: Cordero played shortstop this year as a 6’3/175, lefty hitting 19-year-old in the short season Northwest League. He performed well and was young for the league, but still needs to tighten up his strike zone. As he fills out, Cordero is expected to shift over to third base, with some suggesting he may even still move to right field. Cordero projects for above average raw power, is an average runner and has an above average arm. If he can be more patient at the plate, there’s a chance for an above average regular at third base, but there’s still a long way to go. From the reports I have read, he was less regarded than Jimenez and bounced around between A and instructs. Cordero really struggled to put it together until about 2016 when he started rising in the rankings. He was still a lower tier prospect and behind guys like Renfroe/Dickerson/Margot. With guys this young, it's likely Jimenez never even becomes Franchy.
  20. I'm disappointed in the responses to this. Goodbye.
  21. Wrong. There ARE still a few games left.
  22. The two genders: Female Poster
  23. Anyway, back to clutch vs choke, Dice-K's gyroball and how Fenway is a great place to see a game.
  24. You were the one to open the pandora's box. It's your fault.
