  1. I also tried to pick players that stuck around long enough to have decent MLB careers. I avoided cup of coffee guys. No shame in just sucking ass for the Sox at the end or beginning of a lengthy career.
  2. I didn't know about his post-Sox playing issues. Woof.
  3. Worst Pitcher: Jack Billingham 11.10 ERA in 7 games in 1980 after being traded from the Tigers (Remlinger had some bad stats in 2005, but are skewed by him being thrown to the wolves in one relief appearance when the Sox were already getting drubbed, while Billingham got hit around in every appearance) Worst Hitter: Craig Grebeck who had a 166 OPS in 23 games in 2001 (dishonorable mention to Allen Craig who had a 432 OPS over the course of 2 seasons at an offensive first position) Worst Human Being: Ugueth Urbina 2nd Worst Human Being: Wil Cordero
  4. Gammons' rumor agrees with Wednesday's report from Japan's Nikkan Sports (which came AFTER the report that jacko posted about).
  5. Sorry, I was looking at a weird list. Kikuchi wasn't listed as "active" because he's a free agent. I didn't list every player, just ones I thought were notable. Nomo should have been first on the list, so I don't know what happened there. Feel free to provide a complete list.
  6. The OG Girl Boss
  7. Famous Mr's in baseball: Mr Baseball Mr Met Mr 3,000 Mr October Mr E Team
  8. Which one did Magnum PI sign with?
  9. Active: Darvish - TX Maeda - LAD Ohtani - LAA Tsutsugo - TBR Akiyama - CIN Sawamura - BOS Retired (partial list): Irabu - NYY Ichirio - SEA Matsui - NYY Saito - LAD Okajima - BOS Matsuzaka - BOS Igawa - NYY Fukudome - CHC Kuroda - LAD Uehara - BAL Tazawa - BOS Iwakuma - SEA Masahiro Tanaka - NYY Kikuchi - SEA Seems like the most likely destination for a Japanese player would be SEA, LAD, NY or BOS.
  10. @pgammo New report suggests Mariners are among the favorites to sign OF Seiya Suzuki. And the GM consensus right now is the Giants get him ahead of the Mariners.
  11. Gooden really doesn't have the career numbers to get into the HOF, similar to Lincecum. However, I think the Cobra, Dave Parker should be in.
  12. Not sure it even warrants a mention with all the blow Strawberry and Gooden did in the 80's.
  13. I've looked, but have never found a list online. If someone has a link, please post it.
  14. It shows a willingness to cheat.
  15. Like this?

  17. My career earnings as a CPA will probably beat the career earnings of 50% of MLB players. They earn as much as they can in their 20's and 30's. I get to stretch it out until I die formatting an Excel spreadsheet. I can kinda relate to the guys at the bottom, but not to the guys making Hollywood $$$.
  18. If users were indeed ahead of testers, why did highly paid guys like Palmeiro, Cruz, Braun, Manny, et al get caught? Shouldn't they have had the ability to fly under the radar?
  19. The top post on MLBTradeRumors says it's not likely the Sox will sign him. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/01/seiya-suzuki-rumors-padres-cubs-giants-mariners-finalists.html
  20. If users are ahead of the testers, you have to assume EVERYONE is doing it. If that's the case, it's hard to rail about Ortiz.
  21. Sosa was suspended for using a corked bat.
  22. Do I know if he's clean? No idea. Maybe? Maybe not? Without him failing a legitimate test or being part of a trial (a la Bonds/Clemens), I couldn't possibly say for sure. I can say he never failed any tests once they were instituted league wide (unlike ARod/Manny/Palmeiro/Colon/Grandal/Cruz/Braun/Tejada/Cano/Montas/Laureano).
  23. Unfortunately, that truck didn't have the panache of this iguana vehicle: https://petrolicious.com/articles/the-alfa-romeo-iguana-an-intriguing-influential-concept-from-a-definitive-italian-designer
  24. I give credit to Yankees players when it's due. If they had a like-kind in NY, I'd tip my cap. I'm on record as saying the Rays are just as much of a rival as the Yanks, so I'm no Yankee hating absolutist.
  25. That's rich coming from the POP PEE guy.
