I guess it still depends on the pitcher. Jalen Beeks works almost exclusively with an opener and in 2019, he only pitched 4 games with 5+ innnings pitched. If he was a true starter, he could have only been credited for 4 wins at most. However, he earned 6 wins that year due to how they factor in relief wins. In fact, Beeks had zero wins in games in which he actually started the opening frame. Over time, the better pitchers are more likely to get wins regardless of when they start the game as long as their overall innings pitched isn't dramatically impacted.
