Anderson wasn't the top prospect at the time. He was highly ranked going into 2009 and then fell flat on his face in AA (673 OPS).
Prior to the trade, the SoxProspects had the rankings as:
Casey Kelly (included in the deal)
Ryan Kalish
Anthony Rizzo
Lars Anderson
Jose Iglesias
Felix Dobront
Anthony Ranaudo
Josh Reddick
Sox also included #16 prospect Reymond Fuentes in the trade.

Red Sox shuffling rotation a bit. After Houck today and Wacha tomorrow, it’s likely Whitlock on Saturday (unless he pitches in relief before then). Hill will pitch Sunday with Houck piggybacking him before being ineligible for TOR series. Tue (Houck’s day) TBA.
@jcmccaffrey
-Cora says it’s a day off for Kiké Hernandez but also trying to get offense going
-Martinez still sore and getting treatment will travel to Tampa, likely won’t play Friday
-Hill will start Sunday and Houck piggyback. Houck is unvaccinated and can’t go with the team to Toronto

Ceddanne Rafaela went 1-for-4 with a home run (6) and two RBI (13) in yesterday's 9-4 Greenville Drive loss. The 21-year-old utility man is slashing .380/.415/.840 over 53 PA to start the 2022 season.
No, because reports are that his velocity is still down. If he can't regain his changeup from 2019-20, he's not the same pitcher. He may succeed in AAA throwing that way, but it's not an indicator of success in MLB.
AGon in 2012:
"We play too many night games on getaway days and get into places at 4 in the morning. This has been my toughest season physically because of that. We play a lot of night games on Sunday for television and those things take a lot out of you."

FanGraphs just changed their fielding WAR calculation retro to 2016.
Xander woke up today and somehow lost 3.2 fWAR.
Houck vs Gausman
1. Trevor Story ® 2B
2. Rafael Devers (L) DH

5. Bobby Dalbec ® 3B
6. J. Bradley (L) CF
7. C. Vazquez ® C
8. Travis Shaw (L) 1B
9. C. Arroyo ® RF
Pannone may have a good k/bb ratio, but he's not a good pitcher.
2022: 7.24 ERA, 13.2 IP, 20 H, 11 ER, .328 AVG, 948 OPS
2021: 7.07 ERA, 118.1 IP, 160 H, 93 ER, .322 AVG, 896 OPS
Hitters are teeing off on him.

From a person with knowledge of MLB rules regarding return of players on COVID IL:
Any player, regardless of vaccinated status, can technically return earlier than 10 days if they test negative on PCR tests.

With Padres first to announce a jersey ad deal, Red Sox still shopping for partner.
Now that corporate sponsored patches have been put on MLB jerseys, what would be the best partner for the Red Sox? Dunkies?
