That is a very good point about casual fans moving on. MLB has a history of not being able to market itself very well. It used to be the #1 sport, but is probably #3 at this point.

This is what Andrew Miller said about CBA negotiations: "Fans want to go out and see a competitive product every night and that's what we want... the best version of baseball. No matter where they catch a game, no matter what time of year." I think the players values are more aligned with the fans than the owners.

^^^ The players gave the owners a list of what they wanted to negotiate for. The owners didn't even counter. They got a stooge to announce that they will issue a plan sometime this month. We're already 6 weeks past when the MLBPA reached out to the owners.

1. Increase ticket costs. 2. Allow fans to bring coolers to the ballpark and they don't get checked by security.

Players want to play well every game. A batter wants to hit 1.000. A pitcher wants a 0.00 ERA. Most players would want to win every game if they could. I think that aligns closer to what fans want.

Fukudome at age 26, had 93 career HR's. Suzuki at age 26, has 189 career HR's. In the past 3 years, Suzuki has walked more than he has struck out. Fukudome's strike out total nearly doubled his walk total through age 26. I think Suzuki will be more similar to Matsui than Fukudome, but probaby not quite as good as Matsui was.

@SoxProspects The Red Sox have re-signed OF Johan Mieses. The 26yo split '21 between Portland and Worcester (and the DR national team), hitting 19 home runs across the two levels plus 4 more in international competition. He'll compete for a spot in AAA after some struggles at the level in '21. Dollar General Vlad Jr is back...

The beer drinking experience greatly differs when having a beer in a chilled glass vs a can vs a bottle vs a plastic cup.
