  1. Kimmi asked for a generalization with the questions "what makes so many..."
  2. Need to let them get it out their system. Otherwise they'll be walking around like a loaded gun.
  3. http://news.soxprospects.com/2022/08/july-players-of-month-brainer-bonaci.html Bonaci and Luis Perales were players of the month for July.
  4. ^ Not a realist.
  5. Pfffft... Players sign based on their feelings, not based on the $$$'s on the contract!
  6. Low testosterone. Unhappy with how their lives turned out.
  7. Apparently, not only are the ChiSox eat all of Dreckman's salary, they are also sending the Red Sox either a PTBNL or cash. Say what you want about the other two trades, this one is an absolute win.
  8. It must be a directive from above because it's a very tough tight rope to walk.
  9. Unless your last name is Dombrowski.
  10. I think most mutual options are dropped for whatever reason. We'll see what happens.
  11. Last time out for Bello, he was listed as a starter, but Davis ended up starting. Maybe he piggybacks again? Maybe Hill comes out after Bello?
  12. So what Cone did was like a million times worse, got it.
  13. Getting rid of Dreckman is just and absolute win. Did the ChiSox really eat all the salary?
  14. The moves don't move the needle with me, really. Bloom didn't give up much so didn't really get much. 1. I'm excited he dumped Diekman and somehow got a defensive catcher even if it's just a backup for next season. 2. Pham at least provides a better option than what Cora had to put out there. There are still 2 months to play and they can't tank far enough to really affect draft position or anything so what's the point. 3. They've been prepared to move on from Vazquez for a long time. I think his defense is pretty overrated. He's a horrible baserunner and throws the ball around too much.
  15. Reese is 15th in framing and 30th in pop time. Vazquez is 49th in framing and 15th in pop time. Plawecki is 34th in framing and 75th in pop time.
  16. What would you have done differently at this moment?
  17. Now there is a true piece of s***.
  18. He doesn't need to be around for a long time. He's 34. He's a stop gap. He was traded for a PTBNL or cash.
  19. It was too little, too late and kinda underwhelming, but there's a half day to go... We'll see what it looks like tonight. If this is all it is, I'd rank it a C+ for now. I wish they traded all their expiring contracts, but there was no way that was ever going to happen. Henry wasn't going to allow it.
  20. I'm sorry you went through this. I know several people close to me that went through similar things. What McGuire did was purely to himself and nobody else saw except for the police officer. He f***ed up and it will follow him forever.
  21. Then you'd make a horrible GM and I'm glad you're not making trades.
  22. The problem is that RSN includes people that sit in the cheap seats, the expensive seats, post on sites like this, call into sports radio, sit at home and watch casually or even obsessively. The grades would be all over the place. It's not what is just on here. It's not what is just on sports radio. Most Red Sox fans are waking up today not even knowing Reese McGuire is on the Sox.
  23. Maybe trading Vazquez wasn't giving up? They have control over McGuire for 2023, which they didn't have for Vazquez. He's a solid defensive C. His bat is whatever. He's better than Plawecki. He's better than any in house option they had and they can still bring Vaz back in the offseason if they want.
  24. To save money.
