  1. @SPChrisHatfield Can confirm that LHP Jeremy Wu-Yelland had Tommy John surgery yesterday. The #SP60 no. 40 prospect was the club's 4th-round pick in 2020. He spent most of last season in Salem before a 3-game cameo in Greenville.
  2. Every once in a while, it's nice to enjoy what you follow rather than get angry at it.
  3. Hit him with a blow dart.
  4. I'm not sure Wacha can sustain this all season, but I'll enjoy it for now.
  5. When he called Diekman in, it was kinda scary.
  6. He had a team meeting and told them that the offense needed to score runs and the pitching needed to not give up runs. Worked out well.
  7. Haven't seen it noted anywhere.
  8. Maybe. That’s not our reality at this point.
  9. Yup, and we'll see if the Sox' crack medical staff came to the right conclusion.
  10. Let's see. 1. HR happened. 2. HR cleared the CF batter's eye. 3. There is a road and a parking lot directly between the stadium and the river. 4. Is there driftwood in the Ohio River? I'm going to chalk this one up as PLAUSIBLE.
  11. Striking out Mantle 2/3's of the time is pretty f***ing good regardless.
  12. IDK. Arroyo has looked horrible in RF. He runs to popups the way you or I would.
  13. Well, Kiké has double the amount of runs and RBI that Story has...
  14. It gives me more joy than seeing Kiké hit 6th.
  15. They'd say "how much are you paying me to read this garbage?"
  16. No, there are actual reports and "stories." The stories are fun and cute. The actual reports show that Mantle only faced him 19 times and k'd 12 times. The game logs are available for you.
  17. And it was the Sox' medical opinion that Graterol wasn't going to have a long career.
  18. https://sabr.org/bioproj/person/dick-radatz/ Over his first three years, the Yankees’ Mickey Mantle had only one hit against Radatz. It was a home run. There was a story that circulated in later years, printed in a number of publications, that Mantle had faced Radatz 63 times and struck out 47 times. Asked by this author to run the actual totals back in September 2002, Dave Smith of Retrosheet found that Mantle had 16 at-bats against Radatz and struck out 12 times.
  19. I just looked it up again. The numbers that were put in his obituary were WRONG. 19 PA, 12 K.

  21. Only k'd the Yanks 81 times. It was Mantle 60% of the time I guess?
  22. Mantle's 311 OPS vs Tiant is the lowest against any pitcher he faced more than 15 times.
  23. What is moon doing in the mirror behind the curtain?
