  1. Guys like this are available at any time. @mlbtraderumors Dexter Fowler Granted Release From Minor League Deal With Blue Jays
  2. Here's and under the radar guy: @SoxProspects Tyler Uberstine pitching line- 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 37/58 strikes (63.8%). The 22-year-old righty's ERA now sits at 1.59. He has struck out 16 batters over 17 IP while walking six. Last year's 19th round pick has 1.46 ERA in MiLB through his first 9 games (7 starts), 1.01 WHIP, 24 K and 7 BB.
  3. Neither of those guys are listed on the 40 man.
  4. They only get 40 man relief if he goes on the 60 day IL.
  5. I'm taking a holistic approach. DFAing Arroyo doesn't fix the problem on its own, but it's part of the solution IMO.
  6. 8/13/20 Sox claim Arroyo off waivers 8/16/20 Sox place Arroyo on 10 day IL 5/9/21 Sox place Arroyo on 10 day IL 6/24/21 Sox place Arroyo on 10 day IL 7/19/21 Sox place Arroyo on 10 day IL 8/27/21 Sox place Arroyo on 10 day IL
  7. Reported a week later: @BeyondtheMnstr Source: Red Sox top prospect has sore wrist
  8. Internet forums are not reality.
  9. Cordero and Arroyo can go at anytime. With Vaz, it's about how he works with the pitchers. I can't speak to that. Kiké has a very long leash, but part of it puts him into a UTIL role. JBJ? If everyone is hitting, he's not an issue. With everyone not hitting, should he still be an issue?
  10. He can stay on the field and is a real defender. Sanchez: career 79 wRC+ Arroyo: career 80 wRC+
  11. Arroyo is 27 and his max games played is 57 in a year. Dalbec has JBJ syndrome: really hot streaks and then dreadful droughts.
  12. Sounds horrible.
  13. 2018 - 2021 Cano Most HR in a season: 13 Most RBI in a season: 50 Most R in a season: 46 I'm not sure we need more mediocre options. Do we just want to keep treading water?
  14. Just call up Casas. He won't be any more expensive than Cano.
  15. Dalbec has a track record at this point. So does Arroyo. They made Dalbec a part time player at the end of last season, might as well do it now too. Arroyo can't stay health and isn't a special ballplayer. Give his roster spot to someone with a higher ceiling.
  16. Blow. Darts.
  17. Yes and his current high OPS in AAA isn't due to Home/Away splits like last season. He seems to be hitting much better away from WOO now and it's not just hitting bombs.
  18. Not interested. He's 39. I'm not sure he adds anything to this team right now. If he's just filling in at 1b, I don't see the point.
  19. It's nice that there is an interesting farm system to talk about again. High floor/low ceiling guys like Walter are good, because it's better to have him in the rotation at 750k than have to get a 5M retread. Is Bello a 3rd starter or a phenomenal closer? Hard to say right now. Rafaela has a great glove and could probably be the 26th man on an MLB team if the Rule V draft happened this year. No way does he go unprotected next time.
  20. The Groome drop makes sense. I'm not sure people still see him as a starter. McDonough's numbers have been down this season. Blaze Jordan is also not hitting like 2021. Downs may actually see a bounce back if his recent production continues. Lugo and German make sense just because everyone is just bunched up that far down the rankings anyway. SoxProspect guys are very high on Murphy. He had massive splits last year which made them think he was a relief arm most likely. Seems to have overcome that a little bit this year, but it's still really early IMO. He will probably be called up to AAA sooner than later and I'll be interested to see how he fares there. Rafaela has been out of control this year. He could be top 10 by the end of the season if he really continues to break out. Walter is an interesting guy. He's already 25, but we have to ignore that since everyone missed a season of development in 2020. Maybe he's Brian Johnson 2.0? A solid back end pitcher, but not high end stuff like Bello? Binelas has increased his bb% is crushing it this season. The k's are still really high though.
  21. Bello for sure.
  22. A relief pitcher recording a save must preserve his team's lead while doing one of the following: Enter the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitch at least one inning. Enter the game with the tying run in the on-deck circle, at the plate or on the bases. Pitch at least three innings.
  23. BR and FanGraphs seem to tally BS's differently.
  24. Were most of the blown saves in the 9th inning when they had the lead?
