No. If they had the lead more often, they'd probably have less blown saves since the offense would be able to bail out the pen.

Robles was the LAA closer in 2019. He was decent at it. Maybe Barnes can get back there at some point this year. Hard to say. Right now? Just Robles. Anthony Bender in MIA is garbage. Robles would close there.

AAA Pitchers that may be worth a look (no particular order): Zack Kelly - bullpen arm, 423 OPS, 27 years old and not much more to develop (532 OPS last season in WOO) Kaleb Ort - WOO's closer, had cup of coffee last season, 487 OPS, 30 years old see above Seabold - if Pivetta continues to falter, does it make sense to bring Seabold up and keep one of Houck/Whitlock in the pen? Schreiber - pitched well when called up this year in place of Houck, 642 OPS Feltman - "closer of the future" has been ok this year, has a k/bb ratio moon would like, probably not quite there yet

I guess. I wouldn't worry about him turning into an All Star elsewhere. If the season doesn't turn around soon, it'd make more sense to just give Casas and Duran fulltime roles. Yolmer is much better than Arauz, who is a DFA candidate IMO. 1. Option Dalbec, call up Casas. 2. DFA Arroyo, call up Yolmer Sanchez. 3. DFA JBJ/Franchy, call up Duran.

Home 1013 OPS Away 1019 OPS Only 1 HR on the year, so his numbers look a little better than they did with the inflated HR's last year. I'm not against calling him up. Where do you play him? Not RF. He has a Johnny Damon arm.

Waiting on service time for Casas is embarassing if you're a team like the Sox.

Diekman is pitching far worse than just one pummeling. In the 3 game stretch from 4/22 - 4/26, he gave up 3 BB, 5 H, 2 HR, 4 ER, 2 IP.

I agree that he'll be here until the end of 2023, which is what I originally said. This season feels like an echo of 2014.

Sanchez should be called up ASAP. I want to see Mieses do it a little bit longer. I worry he'd just be stuck as a bench bat. At least Fitzy can play everywhere.

Yeah, that's why you don't only scout the boxscores. Where Duran held his hands made it absurdly impossible to hit a FB. Casas has a natural swing.

There were always questions with Duran's hit tool. That has never been the issue with Casas.

My real worry is that Bloom struggles this year and next and then ownership fires him and replaces him with DD part 2. It's been a rollercoaster since 2011.

Yes they do. But his testicles need to be front runners. They don't have the talent to make enormous runs. They can't afford any deficit by May 1.

We expected JBJ to struggle, but field the position well. Dalbec was supposed to hit a little and earn a future DH spot. I think that's why people have focused on Dalbec.

They'll let those 4 guys go and replace them with lesser versions for PR.
