  1. They'd take it, but isn't that just wasting Henry's money when you could spend it on other players? Why overpay Eovaldi and Wacha?
  2. I'd be really surprised if Wacha gets a QO. I think he's in Steven Matz territory from last offseason. A similar guy who had a bounce back year at age 30 and did NOT get a QO. He signed for 4/44. I think Wacha is more likely to get something like that rather than a QO. Eovaldi? He was fantastic at age 31 last year, but injuries have always been in his rearview mirror. Even according to FanGraphs Value chart, Eovaldi was only worth over $20M one time since 2016. Maybe try to re-sign him at 2/26?
  3. At this point in the contract, I'm not sure the money actually matters. What matters is the product that you put on the field. Sale just hasn't been able to lace them up every 5 days. Could he provide more benefit in a bulk relief role? Swap him with Whitlock?
  4. Is Sale a #2 anymore? Can we even count on him to start going forward? Are Wacha and Eovaldi both getting QO's? If so, that's a very expensive rotation that could vastly underperform. Whitlock as the #5 seems fine to me. I don't know if we can count on anything from Houck going forward after this surgery.
  5. I'm just saying that the Trop has 3 interstate highways running by it oversells what 175 and 375 actually are. I'm glad you had a great time there. It should be replaced though. Most people hate it. It's in the wrong spot for most people that live over there and the stadium feels far more dated than it should at this point.
  6. I haven't been paying as much attention to the MiLB lately, but since heading to Salem, draftee Chase Meidroth has a 980 OPS, 3 HR, 12 BB, 6 K in 17 games. He's not a power guy, but his noted bat to ball skills are showing up in A ball and he's still just flat out walking a ton. He'll probably keep walking a shitload until he gets to AA at some point.
  7. Injuries really took a toll in this guy's season. I hope he can turn it around next year. Unfortunately, he already had the injury knock on him as a highschooler.
  8. I saw zero minutes of the USC game since they were playing lowly Rice. I have no idea if they are really a top 10 team.
  9. Major interstate highway is a stretch when both 175 and 375 are less than 2 miles long.
  10. Not necessarily. We tend to overrate our Rule V eligible guys and haven’t had anyone of note taken in a while. We’re typically more surprised of who is left available to be drafted.
  11. Tropicana and Oakland Coliseum are the bottom 2 of every MLB stadium ranking I’ve seen and it’s for a good reason.
  12. You must be very easy to please.
  13. I drove by Patriot Place on Wednesday in May and it was really easy to get in and out of. Probably not a big deal when Country Fest shows up or whatever.
  14. Until 1970.
  15. Tampa has the second worst stadium in the league and is in a horrible location. Miami isn’t a great sports market, but outdoors baseball in South Florida in June - August is miserable.
  16. Meaningful September Fantasy Matchups…
  17. Mutual options are rarely ever exercised. I’m not sold this one is picked up.
  18. So many great moves they went from ALCS to last DAMN place.
  19. Joey Meneses has 33 hits in his first 25 @MLB games. That’s the most by any rookie through his first 25 games in Nationals history. Why can’t we find guys like this?
  20. Even bringing him up may not fix the situation.
  21. The only way to do it without paying it is to have a strong farm system and lock up players really early if you absolutely have to a la Wander Franco. Unfortunately, most “I don’t care what Henry has to pay, but players make too much” types don’t care about the farm.
  22. Crawford vs Archer
  23. Even if they do a complete overhaul, Devers will be great in 5 years. Sign him to a max deal now.
  24. Ok, but who on the open market would they use it on?
