  1. They gave our ace pitcher and #1 prospect long contracts... Crochet: 6 year deal, they basically gave him 4 extra years after arbitration through age 31, is that a huge stretch Anthony: 8 year deal with club option for 9th year, gives them 3 additional years of control after ARB through age 30 That's not really stretching themselves. They are the most obvious "have to do" deals of all time. What is the aging 3b long term deal? I don't see it anywhere.
  2. Clearly they should have given him an 8 year extension!
  3. At least Newcomb had an MLB pedigree. These guys are a whole lot of AAA depth. Uninteresting group.
  4. I'd rather be like the Dodgers or Yankees who somehow are competitive every year. 🤔
  5. You want 5 prospects busting out at the same time, but the guys "you aren't crying about" won't be here to bust out because they've been traded. 🤗
  6. JH won't pay market price for anyone. Why would he change his mind in 5 years when the money will be even higher than it is now?!?!?!?
  7. This isn't true either. Have you seen how many prospects they've traded away since Breslow came aboard?
  8. Now you are saying "it's our average spend" when yesterday it was "they spent more last season and went up to 7th highest" even though cash was still outside the top 10. I can say he's stingy because I saw him not want to sign Mookie Betts. I saw them not extend Xander early. I saw them extend Devers and then get gun shy and trade him once the contract kicked in. He used to allow the Sox to be a top 5 payroll team from 03-19. They are are no longer in that grouping and the results on the field have suffered for it. The Sox are a top 5 revenue earning team year in and year out. That hasn't changed. The only thing that has changed is what JH wants to spend. STINGY. 🧛‍♂️
  9. Signing Buehler and Sandoval doesn't count as being aggressive to me. Signing a QO guy like Bregman and trading/extending Crochet does. I think a lot of us liked what they did LAST offseason. This offseason has left something to be desired. It's been ok so far, but they still have work to do.
  10. Your analogy doesn't work at all. Sorry.
  11. That's because they have Eaton starting. If Eaton is in BOS, he's starting.
  12. Well, do you believe in his first month of production and that he dropped off due to in season injury? How do you feel about his winter ball results? What about him putting on a lot of good weight this offseason? I can't convince myself yet either.
  13. With how JH is currently spending, I don't see it either. Kind of a shame. I think they may have to splurge at some point and push the envelope.
  14. Even if they trade an OFer, I doubt he's on the Opening Day roster. I could see them calling him up for a part time roll in the second half.
  15. Never OPS'd above 800 at AAA before. He's just an org guy TBH. Bench bat for WOO if Eaton is there.
  16. The problem with Azocar was that he was going oppo too much and Salem was just eating him alive (terrible park). If he can just pull the ball more, he'll do fine. Not very worried about the slight increase in k% for now.
  17. I was worried that I was going to have to do a wellness check at one point.
