    If he was a projected GG SS, they would have kept him there as it's a much more important position. CF is about as important as 2B and 3B. SS and C are the two most important defensive positions on the field.

    He did not have a GG at SS in MiLB. I don't know where you got that from. He had an "average" glove. When he moved to the OF, his defense popped. It was nothing special in the IF.

    Only found quotes from Tracy about the Bello and Suarez games. Didn't hear anything about Gray being delayed or them just adjusting the rotation.

    GM's would trade MORE for Ceddanne if there was no contract attached to him. I can guarantee that his BTV went down after signing his extension. It most likely does for every guy! Therefore, it reduces his trade value!

    Even if he "earns the contract" it doesn't really matter. He's not a guy that is breaking the bank. He's not a guy that you need to lock up post arbitration 6 years in advance. His FA years aren't going to be that expensive. Better business practices would be to go year to year with him IMO. There's no real cost savings with what they did with him.

    There's no reason to be stuck with guy for 8 years just because they were highly ranked at one point. Once you sign those extensions, they are also harder to trade because other teams don't want to be necessarily be locked into those extensions either. For Roman? Yes. For Ceddanne? No! Not enough upside as you've said. Sox have enough $$ that worrying about retaining him after his arb years shouldn't be a concern.

    His OPS 7/18 - 9/30/26 was 587. Nothing is a given in this league with his approach. He seems to have refined it a bit so far, but we'll see.

    Which corner? All four spots are limited in scope and have their own problems connecting with the base of RSN. The problem with TS is that we are way too hyper focused on the Sox day to day. Majority of fans are much more casual. I'd say a lot of Sox fans wouldn't know who Andruw Monasterio is.

    Rafaela's OPS was below 650 two weeks ago. We'll see if he can keep up is current pace. I'm not "bending over backwards" I'm just making an argument. Same thing everyone else on here does every single day. 🫠

    Why would you extend someone at FA money? That doesn't make sense. You extend someone with cost savings. If you are extending someone with FA dollars you are a dope. If you extend Bello for low end money and all you get is a low end starter that you are stuck with, it's a loss! You're better off not being locked in with that guy!

    IDK, Arias is in a real slump in May, 957 OPS. His stock has taken a big hit. No HR this whole month! I'm happy that Mayer has cut down his k rate. If he can keep that low and get through the season uninjured, it's a success.

    Rafaela's "value" will exceed what they pay him, but what they'd actually pay him in arbitration and FA would be the same or less IMO. For there to be cost savings with Rafaela, he'd have to be a 110 wRC+ guy or something going forward. Good glove guys just don't get paid. Bello's contract is fine if you think he has TOTR upside. I think they thought that at one point. Right now, he has 3rd starter upside. With injuries these days, you don't extend 3rd starters. The Anthony deal seems fine. He's going to be given a few years to figure it out and he wasn't really given enough protection in the lineup. It was really disgraceful that they put him out there and made him be the man from day one. Unfair.

    1968 was lower. It's also early May. I'd expect it to get higher as the temps increase. Since 2018, the BA has been below 250 8 of 9 seasons. The last time it had been below 250 was 1972. It was low from 63-72. 1968 was the year of the pitcher (afterwards they adjusted the k zone and the mound).

    Bloom knew he was out of there. He could tell Raffy whatever he wanted and that it wouldn't matter because the blowback wouldn't hit Bloom. He'd be elsewhere.
