    779 OPS since May 1. It's fine. I wouldn't say "outstanding" if we're really trying to highlight a moment in time. His last 2b was 5/19. The HR's are nice, but they are skewing the overall OPS. The good part of Duran's game is behind him. If he's just a power hitter now, I think he has a lot less value.

    Those stats are just SUSPECT. Need to see what he can do in MLB before I make a judgement on what he can do as a player.

    If the Sox really stink, does it matter that Mayer stinks at the plate? Or is this move to help Mayer get better?

    I think this is the real problem. Henry has turned the FO insanely toxic in an effort to squeeze more money out of the franchise. Dump DD. Hire Bloom. Trade Mookie. Lose Xander. Fire Bloom. Hire Breslow. Trade Sale. Trade Devers. Fire Cora. They are stripping what we know of the Sox for copper. It's just a husk now.

    Fan scouts don't do much for me TBH. Marcelo Mayer is a talented player. He just wasn't fully cooked before he was brought up. He had about the same OPS as Kyle Teel and Roman Anthony in POR in '24. People still really like those players and Marcelo was stuck playing in POR during cold April (when many other players in POR massively struggle) while the other two were still in A ball.

    The argument is "he won't be able to learn how to hit MLB offspeed stuff in AAA." He never learned to hit AAA offspeed stuff either. Tough to say definitively what to do there.

    That's projecting something for Adell that was only there for one season. He's been a huge disappointment in SoCal.

    They are looking to deal one of their other catchers because they like Gasper so much. I don't know why this team is falling in love with AAAA players.

    Alonso is a substantial improvement at DH. Bregman is a substantial improvement in the clubhouse where this current group has failed. I don't care about Bichette.

    Mickey Strained Groin Gasper back leading off. Couldn't fly in Romy's 2667 OPS from POR. He's having too much fun up there learning to love the game. That's just what the guys do now. They should call up Slugger too.

    Crochet, Anthony, EVERYONE should be on the table for the right price. Unless you have the best player in the league on an amazing contract, every player should probably be available to the right bidder. It would just take paying out the nose for some guys.

    Cora still stays in touch with guys in the org. I wouldn't say never. However, I wouldn't put Cora in as CBO. How has it gone with the previous two CBO's who were brand new to the position? Big learning curve, huh? Now throw Cora in there who has never been in the FO before. That's a recipe for disaster.
