  1. Ok, if we're projecting -0.5 per year, when does the decline happen? He declined 0.7 from 24 to 25. Maybe the 26 projection is overstated and he's already in the decline? My daughter threw a chair when Devers was traded so... 🫠 I think Bregman wants more than 5/125 as that's less than the Alonso contract. I think he doesn't care about the break even point and is holding out for something stronger. Again, we don't really know what the "aggressive" offer is that the Sox made.
  2. For everyone worrying about how much JH is or isn't spending, today is ARB deadline day. Casas - 7.7M Wong - 1.375M Kutter - 2.75M Houck, Oviedo, Romy, Casas - agreement not reached yet
  3. They don't have anyone they can QO to offset it this time either.
  4. We can all have a silly, fun time, but let's try to get along though. Ok?
  5. Nobody left from the 2019 roster. 2020: Houck 2021: Whitlock, Duran, Wong But we think we know the 2030 roster and how great it will be. Ok.
  6. If the backup plan is either Donovan or an internal option, it's not a great one!
  7. Those weak teams were sold to the fanbase as "competing for the playoffs" each season. If they overspent and underperformed, it's on the FO.
  8. Sox can bring in more fans AND jack up the prices even more with their variable pricing system.
  9. They were pressured into signing Devers and regretted it the morning after which is why he was dealt.
  10. Aside from his WS starts, I think the Dodgers are happy enough with Snell's '25.
  11. If they truly have an aggressive offer out to Bregman, why use all the prospect capital it would take to bring in Marte?
  12. The Sox have already stated that the market for Bo was too high for where they wanted to go after they met with him. I think they are all in on Bregman and don't have a backup plan.
  13. Marte is cheaper, but you have to deal off players to get him. Is it worth the cost savings to do that? IDK.
  14. People already call them cheap. What will change? How does it affect JH? He doesn't directly interact with the fanbase anymore. So is signing Breggie just a PR move? If so, isn't that everything that some have been worried about.
  15. This one was the worst because there was so much noise about a Joe Ryan deal getting done. 🙃
  16. Who are the others? I can't think of any at the moment. They are holding out because the offer isn't going to be taken off the table. He didn't sign until middle of February last year. He may wait that long this year too.
  17. From what I remember, Bloom was ready to deal JD and others after the CV trade, but ownership put the kibosh on it as they didn't want to upset the fanbase.
  18. Feel free to waste some brain cells today and go find the thread. Dalbec's numbers down in May? Don't worry, they could bounce back! You know it was a cursed season when there was a stork post on nearly every page. 😮‍💨
  19. He's an 18 year old who OPS'd under 600 in Salem. I'm not sure he's advanced enough to work on going oppo intentionally yet.
  20. Bad signing and if he's truly as much of a problem for the roster as people say he is, just DFA.
  21. If you go through the Realistic View 3 thread from 2022, a certain poster was still holding out hope for turn arounds from nearly every offensive player in the middle of June. At the beginning of July, the same poster said the '22 squad was almost as good as the '21 squad and that they just needed a similar trade deadline to get them over the hump. I spent most of the previous offseason posting that the team needed a fire sale and to deal off all the expiring contracts. Nobody liked that. Red Sox would be in a better place today if they had done that considering the return they got for Vaz. They ended up punting on that deadline and punting on the '23-'24 seasons anyway.
  22. Going oppo will limit his power and the Sox are trying to maximize exit velo. It just doesn't work with the driveline stuff they are trying to implement.
