  1. The famed "sell low" strategy. Let's see how that works out.
  2. Verdugo RF 2022: -17.3 UZR/150 -4 DRS (430 Innings)
  3. Could they realistically pay Turner, Soto and Tatis?
  4. @mlbtraderumors Giants' Offer To Aaron Judge Reportedly "In The Neighborhood" Of $360MM
  5. Here's what Mac Cerullo wrote about Yoshida in November (free article): https://www.eagletribune.com/sports/another-japanese-star-on-sox-radar-outfielder-yoshida-may-be-latest-to-make-mlb-jump/article_a8518e74-5aaa-11ed-95e9-a7725bdd8685.html
  6. Maybe in a normal year? Maybe once the younger guys are ready to fill in? This year, the Sox just have too many holes to fill to waste $$$ on guys that are more likely than not to miss substantial time.
  7. Stinky cheese underneath a shoebox with a stick holding the shoebox up. Ignore the long string tied to the stick.
  8. Without the larger markets, the game is screwed. He should have played hardball. He didn't want to because THE LUXURY TAX ARTIFICIALLY REDUCES PLAYER SALARIES. Owner revenue keeps going up and up and up and up though.
  9. It should have been. Owners pushed back against it. Why didn't the bigger market teams stand up during the CBA negotiations and tell the smaller clubs to stick it?
  10. I can't believe he reached his first ARB year when he was 17. It was crazy.
  11. No, you'd just get a car you didn't want originally. Maybe you end up liking that one just as much or more, but probably not.
  12. They are falling right into his trap. It may not be a good trap tho.
  13. Yes. Better than this year.
  14. Kahnle is really good, just can't stay healthy. There's a price point for a guy like that.
  15. https://www.mlb.com/news/rule-5-prospects-to-keep-an-eye-on?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage MLB listed 11 prospects to keep an eye on for tomorrow's Rule 5 draft. None of them were named Thaddeus or Wikelman. Maybe Bloom gets to eat his cake and have it too?
  16. @JeffPassan Star Japanese outfielder Masataka Yoshida has officially been posted, sources tell ESPN. He'll have 30 days to sign a deal with an MLB team. There is significant interest in the 29-year-old, who this year hit .335/.447/.551 with 80 walks and 41 strikeouts for the Orix Buffaloes.
  17. Depends on what "getting it done" means. The trouble is that this year, the class is pretty weak. Even with all of the Sox extra cash, it wasn't the right year to be rebuilding from FA.
  18. @BeyondtheMnstr Free agent starter Kodai Senga market includes: • Red Sox • Mets • Giants • Cubs • Padres • Rangers
  19. They want to reset this year.
  20. Sox don't need that contract sitting on the IL. Good for the Yankees.
  21. He's bidding on what he thinks they are worth on the field, not what they are worth on the open market.
  22. Billy Beane: 0 trips to the WS.
  23. That's what the book was about.
  24. You have to pay for TalkSox premium.
  25. @alexspeier The Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, a model minor league franchise that has been owned since their inaugural season in 1994 (including their affiliation with the Red Sox since 2003) by the Burke family, have been sold to Diamond Baseball Holdings.
