    Maybe in a normal year? Maybe once the younger guys are ready to fill in? This year, the Sox just have too many holes to fill to waste $$$ on guys that are more likely than not to miss substantial time.

    Without the larger markets, the game is screwed. He should have played hardball. He didn't want to because THE LUXURY TAX ARTIFICIALLY REDUCES PLAYER SALARIES. Owner revenue keeps going up and up and up and up though.

    @JeffPassan Star Japanese outfielder Masataka Yoshida has officially been posted, sources tell ESPN. He'll have 30 days to sign a deal with an MLB team. There is significant interest in the 29-year-old, who this year hit .335/.447/.551 with 80 walks and 41 strikeouts for the Orix Buffaloes.

    Depends on what "getting it done" means. The trouble is that this year, the class is pretty weak. Even with all of the Sox extra cash, it wasn't the right year to be rebuilding from FA.
