  1. Do the Dodgers just try dealing Bellinger? He's a really weird case. Would someone take a risk on him at that arb figure?
  2. Brewers may nontender Renfroe. That $11M is pretty high for him! Brewers may want to sell on his career high 2.5 fWAR season in 2022!!!
  3. MLBTR is project the following ARB salaries for 2023: Devers 16.9 Dugie 6.9 Pivetta 5.9
  4. Henry just called and the 4.5AAV is going to bust the luxury tax. El Cheapo won't let us do it this year, sorry.
  5. All of Semien's seasons have had SLG between 372 and 435 except for 2019 and 2021 which were 522 and 538. Seem like outliers to me?
  6. Yes, Albies should retire very well, but could have made much much more money if he waited.
  7. Longoria signed for 6/17.5, but MLB team payrolls increased 50% from 2008 to 2022, so a similar contract would be 6/27. Y1: 2 Y2: 2 Y3: 3 Y4: 5 Y5: 7 Y6: 8
  8. For Casas? No. His arb numbers will be awfully small at 1b. https://www.spotrac.com/spots/2022-mlb-arbitration-filings-1443/ He doesn't play a premium defensive position. ATL extensions: Acuna 8/100 Albies 7/35 Strider 6/75 Riley 10/212 Harris 8/72 Your extension $$$ is much smaller than anything the Braves put out there. I think it's something the Sox would want to sign after 2023, not prior to. Albies was signed after putting up 1.5 fWAR in half a season and it's now considered an insultingly bad contract.
  9. Nimmo will probably be more than $10M. I think they'll spend less than $10M on DH if anything at all. I think they re-sign Hill and maybe sign one other starter. I don't see them getting an ace though.
  10. It's luxury tax calculation vs payroll tax calculation. I believe his cost against the luxury tax is higher the last 3 years of his deal than his actual salary which decreases to $13M. I think it means they likely just trade him at some point.
  11. Sox tried exploiting the int'l rules during Ben's tenure and got dinged for it.
  12. I'd pay him that today.
  13. 2018: 2.9 (which was a career high at the time at age 27!) 2020: 0.2 Yes, he had two monster seasons in 19 and 21. Surprise surprise, his SLG is 100 points less this year than last.
  14. The rules on international signings and luxury tax are much more strict than what they were back then. It was easier to buy a better farm system then than it is nowadays.
  15. Round the clock coverage of Manny Ramirez on that channel.
  16. They played right into Keith Law's trap.
  17. I agree. What was the "lowball" offer that everyone is whining about?
  18. That mission statement in itself is a contradiction, or at least such a tight rope to walk that is near impossible to do year in and year out.
  19. Mods, please!
  20. Red Sox didn't earn their titles the rightful way because they had cheaters and steroid guys. What about Pettitte, Leyritz, Kenny Rogers, Clemens, Grimsley, Canseco, Glenallen Hill, Neagle, Mike Stanton, Knoblach, David Justice and ARod? Shutupayamouth
  21. Being a Yankees fan is great because we have history that no other team can compete with, which includes treating legends like dogshit.
  22. This is the sentence that Old Red liked the best.
  23. Guys that can steal bases are a dime a dozen. Duran is fast, but his baseball instincts are low. Maybe his trade value went from nil to next to nil.
  24. Semien was an overpay.
  25. Bogey is rolling the dice and he may not get the payday he thinks he's going to wind up with.
