  1. While Bloom has done a better job of selecting draft picks, I think you need to get players that are closer to providing actual help to the MLB team. Per BTV, Raffy has as much trade value as Roman Anthony, Kutter Coffey, Mikey Romero, Blaze Jordan, Nick Yorke and Elmer Rodriguez Cruz. That's 2 #1's, 2 #2's, 1 #3 and, 1 #4. Waiting for just one comp pick seems like a waste IMO.
  2. It was just weird how you worded it. Saying "the prospects didn't step up" kinda puts the blame on them rather than scouting and BOH/Bloom.
  3. The velo was close to his 2018 and 2020 seasons. I think the QO sealed the deal for him. Why lose some picks on a guy who struggles to stay healthy? I wouldn't be jumping at signing him if I was another team. He probably should have just accepted the QO.
  4. I understand your frustration, but what's the purpose of just posting "Bloom sucks" all day long. We get it. Most of us are mostly on board at this point and just quibble at the margins of his performance.
  5. More often, people can't even state the WHY.
  6. This is great for baseball. 1. It sets up the Mets as the new Evil Empire if they do win a few WS. (Haven't won in 35+ years) 2. It forces other owners to spend. 3. It makes the teams at the bottom look even worse than before. 4. It gets people talking about MLB again.
  7. How does the Red Sox signing a WOO SS relate to the Mets signing Carlos Correa? If the Sox signed Niko over the weekend, the same people would have the same complaints.
  8. Bloom will find a way!
  9. Why would you DFA a guy on an MiLB contract?
  10. I feel no optimism right now. NONE. However, I wasn't exactly overwhelmed by the insight his post provided. This forum is now: Is Bloom a poopy head? Check the appropriate option below. ( ) Yes ( ) No
  11. Is that the prospect's fault or someone else's?
  12. I don't think Lebron can do it until he retires?
  13. The Atlanta Braves made $526M solely in baseball revenue in 2021 (the only team that publicly discloses). The Mets will not lose money in 2023.
  14. Those three teams don't even need to sell tickets because of revenue sharing and tv deals. It's embarrassing.
  15. In terms of top-100 prospect rankings, Baseball America has him at No. 12, MLB Pipeline has him at No. 7, and FanGraphs has him at No. 19. No, we will not be pumping the brakes. CHOOO CHOOOO....
  16. He'll become a FA because the FO doesn't want to pay him. I don't think they will offer him 10/320.
  17. And none of these owners are losing money. Even the Mets will be making money this year.
  18. Yup.
  19. Always hydrate.
  20. No Pappy Van Winkle in my house.
  21. SoxProspects evaluated the Wallace deal as "he could have high end stuff and develop into a 7th/8th inning guy for the Royals, but he has lots of injury concerns and just really has loads of control issues (7.78 bb/9!!!) that may never be figured out." Wyatt could have a Schreiber like ascendancy if he can develop an offspeed pitch that can work against LHB. MLB 2022: 639 OPS RHB 815 OPS LHB AAA 2022: 491 OPS RHB 910 OPS LHB
  22. Ain't nothin wrong with cheap rum too.
  23. Wow.
  24. 10/320
  25. Even the moves at the bottom of the 40 man roster aren't really that big of a deal. Aside from not protecting Ward, I don't care about the Parks, Wyatts or the Orts of the world. They are completely fungible.
