  1. I think Dalbec has future value in BOS as a 1B/3B/LF/DH guy. I think they can use the first month or two to develop the defense. Just put Hosmer on the plank at that point.
  2. Sox have a history of going with guys who they value more highly than other teams: Yorke, Romero, Yoshida... I think that's just how this team works right now.
  3. I'd rather they tank for 2 more years than sign Swanson to a big contract.
  4. You're telling me that if the Sox don't get a SS, that Story will have to play SS? Yeah, that tracks. Without bringing in a CFer (seems unlikely), Kiké isn't being moved. Seems like it's just going to be Arroyo and a hodgepodge at 2b.
  5. Signing Yoshida doesn't prevent the Sox from signing anyone else. Why be focused on that move like it has impacted anything?
  6. They will need to fill in the holes at the very least. The options they bring in may just be very underwhelming.
  7. Conforton, Kluber and Gallo have been names we've been talking about long before the winter meetings even started. I'm not sure they're table scraps. I think the following are the scraps: Pollock Miley Harrison Lorenzen Hedges Cueto Weaver Lyles Myers Pineda
  8. That guy is out of touch for sure. I think Bloom comes off as more sympathetic than Kennedy. Makes me really question about where some of the decisions are coming from. Kennedy is just JH's mouthpiece IMO.
  9. Hey, the Savannah Bananas are actually enjoyable to watch...
  10. I think people are talking about Ozzie Albies type deals, not just handing out Carlos Correa deals to everyone that walks through the clubhouse.
  11. Show me on the doll where a TalkSox poster has hurt you.
  12. Red Sox were 6 games above .500 before they sent Arroyo hit the IL and went back to the IF for good. They were a better team with Arroyo in RF than with him in the IF.
  13. The wine maker?
  14. Pillar?
  15. I'm not trying to compare with last year, I'm just stating that if you're going to have a bad glove in LF, you have to have an above average glove in RF to help offset it, especially in Fenway. Verdugo is not that guy.
  16. Complete takeover of Kenmore. Rebuild the Rat.
  17. They can hide his glove in LF for sure. The key would be making up for it in RF and that's not going to happen with Verdugo over there.
  18. Yoshida is better than Duran. Dalbec is probably better in LF than Duran.
  19. Yeah, he's going to split time between LF and DH most likely. Their first priority was an even more expensive DH in Abreu.
  20. What's the eye opener part?
  21. I am just still really ticked off about all those quotes from last week about how a deal was going to get done and how Boras and the Sox were in strong negotiations. @Sean_McAdam One Red Sox person, asked by someone today whether the Sox would re-sign Bogaerts, answered without hesitation: “Yes.” We now know it was probably just to get the Padres to increase their bid. I thought it was a less than 50% chance that Xander would come back, but the lead up to the signing in SD really pulled the rug out from under the fans here. Just brutal. I'll keep posting through it I guess.
  22. "We need to keep making the right decisions. That’s the bottom line. I would put our organization and our track record against anybody else’s in baseball, period." LOL. I wish they could dump Sam Kennedy. This guy offers nothing. There's too many corporate goons.
  23. @ChrisCotillo How do you proceed with Devers? Kennedy: "We’ll keep doing what I said we’re going to do, which is making the right decisions." He gone.
  24. Interesting! So if we put every team together in one big league, the 2022 Red Sox wouldn't be in the bottom 33%? In fact, the 2022 Red Sox are getting the 14th pick in the draft, which out of 30 teams makes the almost exactly middle of the road. Like a perfectly mediocre team? They aren't actually the dregs of MLB?
  25. The only extension was Whitlock and he's not at the level of "star."
