    McGuire may not provide an onfield upgrade, but he's much cheaper than Vaz's 10M AAV right now and the cost savings was pushed to the pen where it was much needed. I don't think the dropoff will be all that noticeable. Career wRC+ McGuire: 85 Vaz: 84 McGuire's behind the plate skills (framing, pop time) are better than Vaz too.

    1. Stop relitigating? No, it's fine to relitigate it until this year's team is actually constructed. There really isn't enough other meat on the bone to discuss right now. 2. Those who said. FO has more information on their end, but it was an odd decision to stay over the cap to hurt your comp selections.

    He has a terrible zone contact %. The swing and miss he has is just horrible. When he makes contact, it's very hard, but he just doesn't have the bat to ball skill that was advertised. It's funny because people thought his bat would carry him and he'd have to move to 2b, but his defense has improved, but his bat has held him back. He was released by his winter league team because he was playing so bad.

    Betts may be the best player of this generation not named Trout. Letting him go and not getting anything back substantial is embarrassing. Think of all the deadline deals where decent prospects are obtained.

    I'm not sure the trade is worse because of the DFA. We already knew Downs sucked. Downs - bad Wong - backup catcher at best Verdugo - turned into LF only defender with average bat This is not an adequate haul for Betts even if you are getting salary relief.
