    He did start barking. That's what all the smoke signals were about Bogey re-signing with the Sox and intense negotiations. It was to bring up the Padres price.

    The team was 22nd in pitching fWAR. If Bello had the same amount of innings as Eovaldi, he would have had the highest fWAR for BOS pitchers. Whitlock had higher fWAR than Eovaldi and is going to be given a larger role this year. If Sale can pitch twice the amount of innings he did in 2021 and provide the same production, his fWAR will be exceed Wacha's.

    They are doing a few things: 1. Reducing the AAV by stretching the contracts out to a ridiculous length that teams know the players won't be productive during. This helps reduce the luxury tax in the near future. 2. Spending now and worrying about next year's needs at a later point. Basically what I do after Christmas when I take all the lights down and don't put them away neatly. It's a problem for future MVP, not today MVP. Future MVP really hates today MVP. 3. The GM's in charge realize that they will most likely not have to worry about their team in 10 years as they will be elsewhere. 4. Just sign the guys you want and horde the best assets. Once you have those assets, you can deal them off at a later date.

    I don't mind either, but I think it gets less likely the closer they get to Opening Day.

    He still has a lot of trade value. If they deal him, it'll be for a substantial prospect haul.

    I think they'll be similar to last year's team, unless their are major additions going forward. Dealing Raffy is the only sensible move unless they are signing him prior to ST.

    Players who finish in the top two of Rookie of the Year voting will receive a full year of service time. This is designed to combat service time manipulation (keeping a player in the minors to start the season in order to gain an additional year of team control). Teams will also be incentivized to promote top prospects to the majors. If a prospect who was on the Opening Day roster finishes in the top three of Rookie of the Year voting or top five of MVP/Cy Young voting, their team will receive an additional draft pick.

    I knew I'd forget a few. That should be on the list, but is definitely further down on the list of concerns than what I mentioned.

    I am the king crybaby. 1. They should have traded Pedroia. NOT BUZZARDING, BELL! 2. They should have extended Betts. 3. They should have extended Bogaerts prior to 2022. 4. They should have extended Raffy by now. 5. Tito should still be the manager. 6. Theo should still be the GM. 7. The Monster Seats should have never been built. 8. Tear down Fenway. 9. Don Orsillo should have been given a lifetime contract.

    I just think Dalbec is the better fit because he can play more positions. Hosmer is 1B/DH only. If Yoshida/LHB is the primary a DH and Casas/LHB is the primary 1B, there is no reason to keep Hosmer/LHB around.
