    I know, that wasn't the point. I don't think the economy had to do something with his decision. As you said, "he looked at the FA market", but what he saw was Mark Teixeira getting an AAV of 22.5 million on this market. Youk accepted for the same reason every young player accepts a team friendly deal, he took the safe money even if it was less. He knows he might regress, and he wants to stay with the Sox.

    He really likes Boston, which is why I think he might resign with them next year. I don't want to see the Yankees giving 5 years to a position player above 30, not anymore. Paying top dollar for Bay's 31-36 seasons?. I rather see them getting Matt Holliday. Swisher will be the other corner OF. That way the Sox will get Bay and you guys can stop crying. :thumbsup:

    Then he won't sign on this market. He's not dumb. Considering the entire Yankee OF is a FA after this season, and that he's one of the best hitters for next year FA class, then he might be wise to wait. Let Matt Holliday set the market for him next season, instead of Milton Bradley now.
