  1. Burnett is a two-pitch guy, fastball and curveball. Both are plus pitches, but that doesn't means he has the best stuff in the majors, what a joke.
  2. 40+ homers in a sandbox. One of the highest K rates on MLB history, one of the worst defensive players in the majors, yeah that's just what the Sox need. Everyone falls in love with 40 HRs, and a crapload of walks, while ignoring all the stranded and non-advanced base runners, Ks, and poor defense he provides.
  3. Wow, when did I posted something like that?
  4. Yeah right, add Charlie Zink and you have a deal.
  5. Lol @ DR Law Degree. Suck a dick dude, you're an idiot.
  6. No, I'm Simpson, Homer. http://humorzen.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/simpson2.jpg You sir, are a douche.
  7. And now they need a good starter. Just because Penny doesn't cost a draft pick doesn't means he's the better option.
  8. They didn't seemed to care when they signed Type A Julio Lugo.
  9. Yeah Littleton, Ramirez, Penny and Bard and you guys are already in WS shape.
  10. 1. Sabathia 2. Wang 3. Burnett 4. Joba 5. Pettite That one is not so bad either, and it won't cost you a valuable player like Nady coming from a career year. With so many question marks in our lineup, we need Nady's bat more than a starter. An OF of Damon-Gardner-Swisher scares me. First of all Gardner is unproven so we don't know what we're going to get. Damon, can he stay healthy all year? And Swisher, he's an average D OF at best, can he bounce back to 06-07 offensive form? And there's Matsui with surgeries in both legs, we don't know if he can stay healthy. You need as much offense as you can, if you're counting with those guys. Is like last year, when both Damon and Matsui were on the DL. They had to play Gardner in CF and Melky in LF. And seriously, after investing nearly half million dollars, I'm sure the Yanks don't want that to happen again. Besides getting Harang and his $24m owed for the next 2 years it doesn't helps "cutting" payroll. In the AL East, he'll just be an overpaid 5th starter. Nady is a cheap alternative for the OF, he's set to make around $6m in arbitration. With all that, does it makes sense to trade Xavier Nady? no.
  11. Why trade Bucholz or Bowden when the back end of your rotation includes Penny and Wakefield? It doesn't makes sense at all.
  12. It goes both ways.
  13. Wow a draft pick. An unknown quantity taken at the end of 1st round that would take 2-3 years to make an impact in a major league team. Geees we need to protect those. Jason Place says hi. For every Dustin Pedroia there's like 20 guys that didn't make it.
  14. In 178 ABs? That's a small sample size to say he was unlucky.
  15. A late answer then.
  16. The answer to Sidney Ponson?
  17. There's not much upside on this move. But, he makes the team a little better I guess. I rather have Sheets or Lowe. If this is the only move Theo is going to make regarding the rotation, then is a s***** move imo. But as a depth move is fine. I don't expect much from him in the AL East, but we never know.
  18. He's playing in the VWL and hitting .298/.348/.539 with 8 HRs in 39 games, he has the ability to play 1B and 3B too (in the VWL so far). Tek + Montero and you get a .800 OPS from the catching position easily.
  19. Of course he has the potential. But after investing nearly half million dollars on 3 FAs there's no time for experiments. Besides the back end of the rotation would be Joba and Hughes, two young pitchers with inning limits, and injury concerns. Andy would be great because you put in a guy with experience pitching in New York, that young rotation needs a veteran and Petitte is perfect for that.
  20. That's the last thing they want to do.
