  3. Can't say i'm surprised, but i can certainly say i'm very pleased the man with the laser show won tha award.
  4. Everything is pretty random past the first 3 IMO. Ramon Vasquez........really?

    Peavy

Atlanta + Peavy+ Decent SP+ Power Bat+ 2 Decent relievers= Contender. The Nl East is not that stacked. The Phillies are solid, but every other team is filled with hols. Mets: Pitching of any sort. Marlins: Defense, Back of the rotation. Nationals: Everything. So if the above happened with Atlanta, if Philly doesn't run away with it early, and they're hanging around until they can get Smoltz and Hudson healthy, they have a pretty realistic shot. But then again, all of the above has to happen.
  6. Oh My God........
  7. IMHO, he leaves the "We might have won with Manny line", and it's a perfectly good statement that doesn't harm anyone. He simply peed outside the toilet with that last statement, but i think it's just being taken too seriously, people.
  8. Good luck to him, then.
  9. That's a pretty good read.
  10. I know man. But i tried to explain in first instance that Youk's post was not directed at the player but rather towards Boras. Sorry for the rant, lol.
  11. The problem it's with Boras near-terrorist tactics. I get all the blah-blah-blah about "If you were a player you'd want him as your agent" ******** I'm not a player, but i did go to law school, this is a 3rd rate country, but i still finished law school, and you know what every teacher in every law class taught me: Ethics. That is the f***ing problem with Scott Boras, he's unethical and he doesn't respect the game. I've said it before and i'll say it again, no other agent pulls the ******** Boras pulls. To be honest, i didn't have much of a problem with him until i saw the putrid stunt he pulled on the Pirates with Pedro Alvarez, since i already kinda disliked him for the A-Rod opt-out during the World Series. Come on, those 2 acts are enough to qualify him as a prick and a piece of trash. Really, all the f***ing media attention simply to get Alvarez to match the other best-paid player of the draft. Then convincing the PA to file a grievance on the Pirates and then VEHEMENTLY DENYING having to do anything with it? I mean, he might be the best, but that doesn't mean he's not the lowest of the low. Because ethics are something a human being can choose to respect, and if you don't, then you're a prick, so, Scott Boras is a f***ing prick.
  12. But....THE SINKER!!!!!
  13. Swisher batting 3rd is a no-no. Matsui's a much better candidate to hit third than Swisher, since he's a complimentary piece in that lineup.
  14. I don't think they'd have to give up much...... And he'd be a short-term solution, which is exactly what they need.
  15. If it's for 3yrs, i could see him in a Sox uniform, he's been solid for the LAD and with the improved Sox defense, i can see him being solid here as well, and he's be the 5th starter if/when Wakefield retires,or gets the boot so i don't see the idea as outrageous.

    Peavy

And you add Doug Brocail and Joel Beimel for the bullpen, and you've got a pretty decent team right there.
  17. I think it was a great move, actually, and the stats tell me he had a horrendous FLUKE season, even though his stats weren't even all that bad. 1).251 BABIP, which is way below his career and the major league average. 2)20.9 Line Drive%, which means he was hitting the ball hard, but straight at somebody. Yet still finished with respectable numbers accross the board except for BA, which is essentially a useless stat anyways. And let's check out Bill James' projection for his 2009 stat line: .240/354/451, and that's taking into account his lousy year. If you ask me, the yankees probably pulled some highway robbery on this one. Don't get me wrong, i hate the Yanks, but i'll be the first to admit that this was a great move by Cashman.
  18. Ususally when guys have a breakthough (even if BABIP suggests fluke) they are usually given a chance to prove themselves in the majors even as a backup. And besides, there's not a lot you need to prove when the organization is as thin as the Red Sox are in the position he plays in. Or would you rather have a more expensive, declining Greg Zaun or Ivan Rodriguez at the position if a trade doesn't happen?

    Peavy

Braves + Jake Peavy + Power bat + 2 decent relievers= contender, sir.
  20. And perfectly done, sir.
  21. Wow, nice move by Cashman. Swisher is an extremely useful ballplayer to say the least.
