  1. Youkili's performance has been on a steady incline every year since he's been a regular, he doesn't surprise me. Dice-K, well, that might be a whole other deal, but a healthy return by Beckett might offset any potential regression by Matsuzaka.
  2. Yes, but a healthy return by Drew, Lowell, Ortiz and Beckett is likely to offset any potential moves that the yankees and Rays make, besides, if needs arise, there're always mid-season trades.
  3. Well, that's your opinion and it has to be respected.... However, things like last year's A-Rod opt-out during the WS show complete disrespect for the game, thus my line of thinking that he's a prick, and if you don't think so, then that's fine, but there're a lot of good agents who get great deals for their clients w/o pulling some of the pranks Boras does, but that's just my humble opinion.
  4. But the only way i can watch every Red Sox game, is to buy MLB.TV from MLB.COM, but i've been lucky enough to get it as a birthday present the last 2 years, lol. Thank God for the internet.
  5. I mean it in the fact that they both excel (in Cochran's case, excelled) at what they do, but that doesn't mean that what they do is right...... I admit he's THE agent, but that doesn't make him any less of a prick.
  6. I can only imagine him saying "The Boston Red Sox are the team to beat, yea!" And then getting his ass kicked by the Rays.....
  7. Lol @ Rotoworld Remember Palmeiro and his 50 game fiasco? 28 game fiasco according to thebaseballpage.com
  8. Really? Johnnie Cochran comes to mind.......
  9. A deserving award for the little man with the big stick!
  10. Nuclear dumpsite of dicks..... And he probably thinks he can up the market by making bold (stupid?) statements like this one.......
  11. Really, Adrian Gonzales, really with that?
  12. Bucket of dicks might be more appropiate....
  13. It's an overstatement, lol, but he has had a major hand on it, he started it all with a certain contract for a certain player who can't hit in the playoffs.......
  14. Great hitter, good on defense, can steal a couple bases, great clubhouse presence. Theo, get it done please!
  15. Boras has single-handedly blown up the FA market to the point where $200 Mil contracts are being discussed left and right, and if he manages to get that much for Varitek from some sucker (which i hope is not the Sox) i swear i'll stop watching Major League Baseball altogether.....
  16. Then there's also the whole "a new culture, new place to live in" problem, not too mention the language barrier during the first couple months, since it's not that easy to convey messages to a person who just arrived to the US, hell, even if he does know english it has to feel kinda strange.
  17. IMHO, Sox sent him over here for the winter so he has a chance to prove he deserves a shot, since this is one of the toughest leagues around (probably above AAA), plus this league beats Philly and NY for Most.Annoying.Fans.Ever, if a foreigner can keep his cool in this league and produce, which he's doing on offense and defense, chances are you'll get a shot to prove yourself at the Bigs. That is, of course, unless the Sox acquire Russell Martin or one of the Texas big 3, (3,'cause Laird, really?, come on.....), otherwise he'll probably have a shot.
  18. Does anyone think those numbers translate to an about-average P in the States, or all things considered (AL East,Fenway), doesn't it seem that from this guy's career numbers he could get bombed just like Igawa? I'm going towards option number 2, but if he's really cheap, he might be worth checking out.
  19. He's hitting: During his first 14 games. I saw him play against my hometown Licey Tigers the other day, and he hit a go-ahead, 3-run homer in the 8th inning (eventual game winner), threw out a runner, blocked 2 possible wild pitches, also hit a single and scored a run, took a BB to reach base 3 times. And tonight, against Gigantes Del Cibao lefty Fabio Castro he just hit and RBI double in the first inning AND threw out a would-be basestealer at 2nd. So make that 7 RBI and a double. Dude has some tools.
