  1. All the way back in 1905
  2. Graduated Suma Cum Laude in make-it-up-if-you-have-to university.
  3. Thunder got me hooked since yesterday. Played yesterday and today.
  4. At least Duvall has the possibility of adding some right-handed power to this lineup if he can get his timing back. Kike brings basically nothing to the table.
  5. Doesn't matter what we think, or want. Henry owns the team, and he wants a sustainable contender that doesn't waste millions of dollars on injured/underperforming players. They're breaking some eggs to make that omelet.
  6. Red Sox are fifth in the league.with 3.95 p/pa, but only 19th on bb's. If anything, they're too passive and don't swing eniough, forcing them to swing at a pitcher's pitch.
  7. Indeed the definition of short-sightedness. At least you're consistent and stick to your guns.
  8. Very short-sighted on both Casas and Duvall.
  9. Absolutely an analytics department mandate.
  10. Ditto, both in the legal and tax/financial issues. Also, and this is very memed on the interweb nets, but there-s a difference in attitude between rich people (who I've had not so nice experiences with) and really rich people (who are, ironically, usually more humble and down to earth).
  11. I like Taylor because he has a beautiful swing and is pretty athletic, with good power for his smallish frame which has some potential for more filling out. There's no way, however, that he makes it to the Sox, who are more likely than not going after another projectable middle-line (2b/SS/CF) type guy. Also not big on Emerson from what I-ve read.
  12. A drum I will pound until it breaks: You can no longer buy MLB success. You have to earn it through a good talent pipeline and smart spending.
  13. Oh. You don't say, fine sir.
  14. But his current cold streak is not his talent level either. The truth is that healthy and rolling, Duvall is this team's primary RH power threat. Another indictment of the poor construction of this roster.
  15. A bit skewed because of several blowouts they lost. But that's not their talent level anyways.
  16. Arroyo will be injured by then, don't worry.
  17. A+ post.
  18. That's because leading an MLB front office is a massive endeavor, even with all of the personnel the upper echelon of the Front Office has below them. Every day only has 24 hours
  19. Not a matter of balls, but a matter of risk Ohtani is a ticking time bomb. Everyone talks about lack of balls and nonsense like that until a player gets a megadeal and then blows out his elbow. Then they should have done their homework.
  20. You don't hit anyone better than anyone. Put some respect on my homeboy's name
  21. No one here is spinning the fact that this team is not well built, and has underperformed. Refer me to one post by anyone here that has stated that please.
  22. Another note on the fact that we need to have some patience with the Red Sox' development plan: Duran looked lost last year, and basically everyone thought he was toast, but look at the adjustments he has made. Dude's been the best player on this team on a per-game basis. A bunch of people wanted Casas gone or traded, and he's improved substantially defensively and offensively. Development is not linear, and Sox fans, in general, have forgotten how to have patience because they've been spoiled by this era of Red Sox baseball, which a lot of people just don't seem to appreciate.
