  1. None of those things will happen. 1) Mike Cameron is a 25-30 HR bat being paid 7.5 AAV.He's also a better outfielder and hitter than Ellsbury. He's simply not a backup. 2)Getting Gonzales without Bucholz and/or Ells is impossible. 3) Lowell can no longer play defense at 3B, the FO knows this, and doesn't want him manning 3B next year, he has also never played 1B in the Majors, so it would be a risky experiment for the Sox. Blind hope is never a good thing, my friend.
  2. As many of us stated here, Urbon shot himself in the foot. Now Bay doesn't wanna go to the Mets, but that's where he'll end up.
  3. When did Tito ever say that Lowell couldn't play 1B?
  4. ... But can't play defense. If the FO considered dumping his contract to get Beltre, then it means he's done on defense.
  5. In 56 AB's Rhet? Really? Take a look at his dolphin stadium stats then.
  6. I was going to post this: 2009 Opening day payroll: 121,745,999. Offer to Teix (supposedly): 168/8: 21 mill for 2009. Total: 142,745,999. 2010 opening payroll figure (pending arbitration cases): 135, 228,333. Add to that around 7-12 million in arbitration (Let's say 12 for argument's sake). 2010 payroll: 147,228,333. The actual increase value if you consider the offer will be around 5%.
  7. In all fairness, statistically speaking, it's not true that Lowell is a better hitter than Beltre, it's also not true that he's a great 3rd baseman, since he can barely play defense anymore.
  8. Please back this up with some sort of objective analysis. The words that spew out of your ass are not enough to convince me.
  9. Not.Once.In.This.Thread.Did.I.Say.Anything.About.Increase.In.Revenue. I spoke about a "threshold" and reasons why they would exceed it.
  10. Have you read anything at all i've posted? Anything? Go back and read. Then get back to me.
  11. As usual, you're reaching. I did the research. The Sox and Yanks use nearly the same percentage of their projected revenues in player salaries. They have a business model which they follow to maximize profit. I will tell you again, you're so obsessed with not being a "sheep" to the media, you've become a "sheep" of your own unwarranted sense of intellectual superiority. You're talking for the sake of talking, without doing any actual research.
  12. Oh? Now they weren't real trades? Weak as water. I posted the guys who changed teams above. Take the time to read. Both Wally-S and Jeff Green are pretty good. West was a bust.Draft picks were also exchanged.Theo Ratliff was the only expiring contract involved in the deal. Please investigate before you run your mouth. You're 37, act like it. Cop-out. Weak as water.
  13. Case in point: Boston Red Sox. You think in the NBA the Celtics could afford to dump a contract to sign a new player? In the NBA, the guaranteed contract is still a cap hit. In MLB, you can dump as many SS as you want (Lol Red Sox) and sign new ones. There is no cap.
  14. Ain't that the truth!
  15. Act like you're 37.
  16. Typical Gom cop-out. The point is that the trade made all the teams involved better. That doesn't happen with FA signings in baseball, and what basketball avoids at all costs, it's what parity is about. Also, you didn't touch any of my other points.LOGICALLY. Please acknowledge you don't know what you're talking about so we can move on.
  17. Actually, you should. Those points can be traded for Yankee tickets.
  18. *sigh*. You mean the players they traded for? Everything else you've given is your usual babble. Babble is not a business model.
  19. + points for you.
  20. Doubtful. He sure as hell had a better accountant than you though. I could find one in the local store. Probably one that acts his age too.
